Chapter 68

Scarlet gawked at this demon.

She has come home to change things around and sort her life out but Mila just asked her to start the war.

This is pure madness.

"Are you out of your mind? This is my family you're talking about."

"But you clearly don't like your family so why would you not want to help? I could use your skills."

The vampire couldn't believe what she was hearing. The great war will bring doom on the Vanderwood family and this demon wants her to be part of it.

"You have no idea who I am" Scarlet growled.

The demon smirked and sat forwards.

"So, is that a no? Because if it is I'll kill your parents in their sleep."

Scarlet raised her eyebrows and widened her eyes. She has never met someone quite so sinister.

"Is that a threat?" 

"If you don't help me, I will hurt those closest to you."

The demon did ask if Scarlet wanted to help but now, she has no choice.

Although, the vampire was not going to be dragged into this. She refused to turn evil and was tired of people hating her.

They watched one another, thinking, wondering and making life threatening decisions.

Suddenly,

Scarlet lunged forward and punched Mila right in the nose.

This sent the demon flying backwards off the chair. She landed hard on the floor as Scarlet rushed around her and ran out of the library.

She desperately peeled the door open. She had to tell everyone. They had to know that Mila was a psychopath and an even bigger one than her.

But she wasn't looking where she was going and ran straight into Panuleon who didn't move an inch.

Corey turned and watched with a gasp, they thought she had gone home. Although, the angel was the last person who she wanted to run into but they had to know.

"It's Mila," She said quickly and stepped back from the scowling angel. "She's going to start the war. She-She asked if I would help but I didn't want to and she said she'd hurt this family if I wasn't-"

"Stop" Panuleon interrupted. "Take a breath and think about what you're saying."

Scarlet did what he said but glanced behind her.

The hell-hound wasn't out of the library yet so maybe she knocked her out.

"The demon has tricked you all. She said being trapped in this world was a plan and the demon leader is her father. She's going to start the war and she asked if I would help her. I said no and she threatened to kill my parents and hurt this family."

Corey and Panuleon were stunned. They looked at one another but how did they know this wasn't a plan as well?

Panuleon could read people very well and she looked honest and worried.

He opened his mouth to say something but just as he did so, Mila launched herself out of the library and straight into Scarlet.

She grabbed her neck and sent themselves flying into the corridor wall. Scarlet didn't have time to protect herself as the demon smashed her head against the wall.

The vampire fell to the floor in pain as Panuleon protected his main priority, Corey.

They stared in horror as the demon who's nose was bleeding stood up with a satisfied smirk.
