Scarlett's POV:
This wasn't a dream, this was reality, my reality.
He was actually giving it up - everything he had worked for - he was sacrificing for me, for us, for our family, for our future.
The press conference, being in that room - hearing it being announced 'officially' it made it all real - this was really happening. The flight home was exhausting almost as exhausting as the actual trip itself - with every tv channel, every radio station and magazine screaming information about Cage's retirement. He had made sports news headlines for both good and bad - some people were happy for him - making a decision to put his family first, but of course there were the sceptics - the ones that fuelled the rumour mill and what a rumour mill it was - there were claims he was injured and forced into early retirement, that he had a falling out with his team mates and was forced to resign and my personal favourite - that his wife had found out about him being with other woman and given him an ultimatum which was forcing him out of the game for good - it was hard to wrap my head around everything that was going on, add that to the stares from people and I was more than ready to come home.
"MUMMY"
"Hey Logie Bear, how's my baby boy?"
I took my son who was squirming in the arms of my father as we walked through the front door,
"It seems he has missed his Mummy princess"
Dad kissed my cheek and turned to Carson, shaking his hand,
"You guys ok? it's you've been all over the news" Dad wrapped his arm around Mums waist - his voice filled with concern as he spoke,
"Yeah, it'll die down in a few days, someone else will come along with a better story" Carson replied, kissing Logan on the cheek and ruffling his hair causing him to giggle
"Hey there buddy"
"Hey there Daddy"
"As long as they don't hurt my baby or my grandson" Mum walked over to me and placed a kiss on Logan's forehead, "He's been such a good boy"
"Yeah, that's good news Mum"
I turned to my little man, his head pressed against my chest, his fingers playing with my hair,
"Have you been a good boy baby?"
"Yep, but Mummy home now?"
"Yes baby" I laughed "Mummy is home now"
That night as we laid in bed our bodies tangled together, my head on Cage's chest as his fingers glided up and down my back softly,
"So how many games have you got left?"
"Hmmm maybe 6 depends on the season - though the team is pretty solid and we are definitely in contention for finals"
I sat up, sitting across his waist I straddled him, placing my hands flat on his chest, his eyes watching my every move,
"Are you ok with this Cage, honestly?"
Sitting up he placed his hands on my cheeks,
"Lettie, I love you and Logan - so much and I want you both to be happy, I want to be the one to make the two of you happy"
"I love you too Cage"
"Besides" with his hands he brushed my hair over my shoulder and brought his lips to my now exposed neck he started placing soft kisses along my skin as he continued, "I spoke to your Dad tonight, I was thinking about opening a fitness centre, one that's a bit more up to date than some of the others we have around here, he is going to keep an eye out for locations"
