"Miya-san," She starts, "I just wanted to apologize about earlier."
(L/N) is a classmate who sits usually behind me, but today however, I let her know that she's free to sit next to me today which she willingly obliged. I thought it was extra convenient that the guy who usually sits next to me wasn't in school today.
Even despite this chance, me and (L/N) didn't really exchange any sort of proper conversations throughout the periods – only a few small talks here and there, mainly it being me asking for some answers on the question papers we were given, which she kindly told me.
After our third period ended, it was now the beginning of lunch.
Ah, the long-awaited lunchtime, only the best subject in school if I had to be honest...
Straight after the teacher leaves the classroom for their own break, I whipped my phone out to scroll through my notifications.
"What are ya apologizing for?" I replied to (L/N), eyes completely focused on the phone screen.
I scrolled past a text from an acquaintance, requesting me whether I wanted to hang out tomorrow on Saturday or not.
"Remember what you said yesterday?" She continues, while I stay reading my texts, "I texted you more than once even though you told me not to do that."
There was an anticipating pause from her after the short explanation. So I flicked my eyes back up from my phone and smiled (L/N).
Oh yes, it's that silly rule I made, almost forgot about it.
"Ah. Don't worry, I forgive ya, try not to do it again. " I reassure her with another modest smile, then repaired myself back to my phone, continuing to text.
"Oi Tsumu what are ya smiling at?" Osamu says approaching my desk by himself with a sandwich in his hands.
I immediately place my phone, screen down on the undershelf of my desk as I thought it was a teacher. "Nothing! Oh, it's just you."
"(L/N)-san hi." My brother waves blandly at her which she also waves back, "Have ya had lunch yet?"
"Uhh, not yet" She pushes a reply.
"Why not? Lunch is the best."
"Well, I'm waiting for your brother," (Y/N) says with a chuckle.
When I took a small glimpse at her, I noticed that she was fiddling her hands a little on her lap, nothing too extreme but noticeable from my side nonetheless. Then eyeing back up, I saw a meager, but just about prominent blush on her face after her words too.
"Atsumu." I cut in.
"Huh?" Her head bounces up gently and she looks at me with confusion.
