Allison's Point of View
The last week at the Burrow passed by far too quickly. Most days were spent outside with Ginny, flying around the paddock behind the house while practising Quidditch passes.
I taught her several of the formations and plays the Gryffindor team used during matches, and by the end of the week, she had improved tremendously.
Ginny was fearless in the air. We even attempted some of the more difficult professional passes we had seen during actual Quidditch matches. Most of them ended in laughter, near collisions, or one of us nearly falling off our broomsticks, but it was still fun.
Whenever I wasn't with Ginny, I was usually with Ron or the twins. If I were with Ron, I often sat nearby reading through Percy's old third-year textbooks and occasionally sneaking looks at his fourth-year ones.
Meanwhile, Ron entertained himself with wizard chess, Exploding Snap, or complaining dramatically about being bored.
Now, however, the holiday was officially over. The Burrow buzzed with chaos as everyone rushed around preparing to Floo to the Leaky Cauldron.
I struggled slightly while dragging my trunk down the stairs until suddenly the weight disappeared from my hands. Looking up, I smiled when I saw Percy lifting it easily.
"Thanks, Percy," I said gratefully. "You're welcome," he replied with a small smile before continuing downstairs, carrying both his trunk and mine.
I followed him into the sitting room, where the rest of the family had already gathered. All except Ron, who thundered down the stairs a moment later, looking like he had nearly forgotten half his belongings.
Mum stood near the fireplace holding a flowerpot full of Floo Powder. "Now," she began firmly, glancing around at all of us, "we are going separately with our trunks. Speak clearly and wait a few minutes between each person."
Dad stepped forward first. He grabbed a pinch of powder, tossed it into the fire, and stepped into the emerald flames.
"The Leaky Cauldron!" The fire roared bright green, and within seconds, he vanished. After waiting a few moments, Mum nodded toward Percy.
"Your turn." Percy adjusted his glasses before stepping toward the fireplace with both trunks still in hand. "Percy, you don't need to carry mine," I protested.
"It's fine, Allison," he assured me calmly. A second later, he disappeared into the flames. Fred went next, followed by George, both of them trying to shove each other into the fireplace while Mum scolded them sharply.
Ron followed after them, muttering nervously under his breath the entire time. Finally, Mum turned toward me with a reassuring smile. "Alright, Allison. Your turn."
I took a handful of Floo Powder from the pot. "Remember to say it clearly," Mum warned. I smirked slightly. "Don't worry, Mum. I'm not going to end up in Knockturn Alley like Harry."
Mum visibly shuddered at the memory. "Allison." "I'm joking," I laughed before stepping into the fireplace. Taking a deep breath, I threw the powder down. "The Leaky Cauldron!"
Green fire engulfed me instantly. The familiar spinning sensation surrounded me as countless fireplaces blurred past until suddenly I stumbled out into the Leaky Cauldron.
Fred caught my arm before I could fall flat on my face. "Graceful as ever," George commented. "I hate Floo Powder," I muttered, brushing soot from my clothes.
Dad smiled faintly from where he stood nearby while Percy carefully stacked our trunks. A few moments later, Ginny arrived, followed shortly by Mum.
Once everyone was accounted for, Mum and Dad began sorting out room arrangements. Safe to say, the twins complained loudly about sharing. Ron looked horrified at the idea of sharing with Percy.
