Allison's Point of View.

I woke to Hermione gently shaking my shoulder. "Allison, wake up," she said softly.

I blinked awake and slowly sat up in bed, immediately glancing toward the dormitory window. A small smile crossed my face when I noticed the storm from the night before had finally passed, leaving the sky bright and clear.

"You can shower first," I told Hermione, still rubbing the sleep from my eyes. She smiled gratefully before grabbing her robes and toiletries and disappearing into the bathroom.

I pushed the blankets aside and climbed out of bed, padding over to my desk. The letters I had written the night before were still sitting neatly where I had left them.

Picking them up, I crossed the room toward Oz, who was perched comfortably beside the window. "Morning, Oz," I greeted softly. "Feel like stretching your wings?"

The owl hooted happily and fluttered onto my shoulder. I opened the window, letting the cool morning air drift into the room. Oz hopped onto the windowsill while I tied the letters securely to his leg.

"Take these to Mum, Dad, and the Cullens for me," I told him gently. Before letting him leave, I reached into the tin beside my bed and held out a few owl treats in my palm.

"There you go, buddy." Oz happily pecked them from my hand before giving my finger a soft nip of affection and soaring out into the morning sky.

"Your turn," Hermione called as she stepped back into the dormitory, dressed in her uniform with her hair already brushed.

I smiled at her, grabbed my robes and toiletries, and headed into the bathroom.

After laying my robes neatly over the chair by the sink, I gathered my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash before stepping beneath the warm water.

The heat instantly woke me up, and I sighed quietly as I washed away the last traces of sleep.

By the time I stepped out again, the bathroom smelled faintly of vanilla and strawberries, a combination Alice had introduced me to over the summer that I had somehow grown attached to.

Once I had dried off and changed into my uniform, I brushed my teeth before stepping back into the dormitory doorway. "Hermione, can you pass me my wand?" I asked.

She looked up from her bag and nodded before walking over to my bedside table. "Here."

"Thanks," I said, taking it from her with a smile. I ducked back into the bathroom and used a drying spell on my hair before brushing through the remaining knots.

After a few minutes of fixing it into a simple style that would stay out of my face during classes, I finally gathered my pyjamas and headed back out.

I placed my folded pyjamas neatly on my bed before turning around and nearly running into Hermione, who was standing there holding my school bag. "You forgot this," she said, amusedly.

"Thanks," I laughed softly, taking it from her and slipping my wand into the inner pocket of my robes. "Have we got everything?" I asked, glancing around the dormitory.

Hermione did one final check before nodding. "I think so." Together, we left the room, and I shut the dormitory door behind us.

As we passed Lavender and Parvati's room, loud shouting immediately echoed from inside. Hermione and I looked at each other before bursting into laughter.

"I am so glad we ended up with our own dorm," I admitted. Hermione grinned. "Same here."

Linking arms, we headed down the staircase only to meet Harry and Ron halfway down. Both boys looked exhausted. "You two look awful," I told them bluntly.
