Allison's Point of View.
Harry did end up telling us what Cedric had said about the egg when we ran into Ron in the Common Room after finishing most of our homework. It had been three days since then.
While I was hanging out with the Cullens, Ron, Hermione, and Harry all went off to do their own things. Hermione disappeared into the library like always, while Ron went to hang out with Dean and Seamus. Harry, on the other hand, I had no idea where he had gone.
So, to pass the time, I decided to head to the Prefects' Bathroom. Cedric had told me the password earlier in the year, after I spent nearly twenty minutes ranting about how tiny mine and Hermione's bathroom was compared to the prefects'.
Ever since then, whenever the password changed, Cedric would casually tell me. Every now and then, I'd sneak away there to relax or talk to Myrtle.
After finishing up with the Cullens, I stopped by the dorm room and changed into some swimming clothes underneath my outfit. I grabbed a towel, shoved it into my bag, and headed out toward the fifth floor.
When I reached the large bathroom door, I glanced around carefully to make sure nobody was nearby before quietly giving the password. The door swung open.
I smiled to myself, pleased the password hadn't changed again, before stepping inside. The second I walked through the doorway, I froze.
Harry was standing at the edge of the enormous pool holding the golden egg in his arms. We both blinked at each other in surprise. "Harry?" "Allison?"
We spoke at exactly the same time. Harry recovered first. "What are you doing here?" I shrugged slightly. "Every now and then, I come here to hang out with Myrtle. She's been spending loads of time here this year."
I tilted my head. "What about you?" Harry lifted the egg awkwardly. "Cedric told me to bring the egg here and gave me the password."
I nodded slowly. "Do you want me to go?" I offered. Harry shook his head quickly. "No, it's fine. I've just bought a pair of swimming trunks."
I cleared my throat awkwardly. "Right, well, I've got my bathing suit on underneath my clothes, so we should be good." Harry nodded. Then just stood there awkwardly. I stared at him for a second. "Harry."
"Yeah?" He asks me. "Can you turn around?" I asked, blushing slightly. His eyes widened. "Oh, yeah. Right." He spun around quickly, his face turning red.
I shook my head in amusement before stripping out of my outer clothes, revealing my bathing suit underneath. After kicking off my boots, I carefully climbed into the warm water.
"Okay," I called. "You're good now." Harry turned around and somehow managed to blush even harder. I frowned at him in confusion before deciding not to question it.
"I'll turn around so you can get undressed," I told him. Harry nodded gratefully. I turned my back and waited while I heard him changing behind me. A moment later, I heard the splash of water.
"You can turn around now." I turned back and watched as Harry settled awkwardly onto one of the underwater seats. The golden egg rested beside his clothes near the edge of the pool.
"So, " I began carefully. "Should we open it or not?" Harry looked at the egg as if it had personally offended him. "We must be out of our minds," he muttered before reaching for it.
I snorted softly. "Definitely." Harry slowly opened the egg. The second the horrible screeching sound echoed through the room, I immediately clapped my hands over my ears.
The noise bounced violently off the marble walls. Finally, Harry slammed it shut again. I uncovered my ears once the sound stopped.
"Definitely out of our minds," I repeated. Harry nodded firmly. "I'd try putting it in the water!" Both Harry and I jumped before turning toward the voice.
