Allison's Point of View.
"See you later, Cho," I called as we stepped out of the classroom. Cho smiled warmly at me from beside a group of Ravenclaw girls and lifted her hand in a small wave. "See you, Allison."
I smiled back before turning to Hermione, who was already packing her books into her bag beside me. "What do you think the boys' lesson went like?" I asked as we headed down the corridor together.
Hermione shrugged. "Considering it was Divination? Probably terrible." I laughed softly as we continued toward the Great Hall.
Halfway down the corridor, I spotted Harry and Ron ahead of us. The two of them were walking side by side, deep in conversation.
"There they are," I said, nudging Hermione lightly. We both quickened our pace, and as we got closer, I caught the tail end of whatever Ron was complaining about.
"Loads of homework already?" I asked innocently as Hermione, and I fell into step beside them, making both boys jump slightly.
Hermione looked entirely too pleased with herself. "Professor Vector didn't give us any." Ron shot us both an irritated glare.
"Lucky you," he muttered darkly. By the time we reached the Great Hall, there was already a long line of students waiting to get in for lunch.
"Weasley! Hey, Weasley!" Ron and I both looked up at the same time. I immediately frowned when I saw Draco Malfoy approaching, the Daily Prophet clutched in one hand and Crabbe and Goyle lumbering behind him.
"What do you want, Malfoy?" I asked flatly. Malfoy smirked. "Your father's in the Prophet." He raised the paper dramatically. "Thought everyone might enjoy hearing about it."
Before he could read a single word aloud, I stepped forward and grabbed his wrist hard enough to make him wince. His smug expression vanished instantly.
"Listen carefully, Malfoy," I said quietly, tightening my grip just enough to make him yelp. "Remember my vampire family?" His face paled.
"Well, they spent all summer training me." I smiled sweetly. "And being half-vampire means I'm stronger than most people here." I squeezed his wrist a little harder.
"So if I wanted to, I could break your hand right now." Malfoy let out another strangled noise, and several students nearby stared openly. I released him suddenly and snatched the newspaper from his grip.
"And if you run crying to someone," I added calmly, "just remember there are far worse things I could do." Malfoy nodded quickly before stumbling backwards toward Crabbe and Goyle.
When I turned around again, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were all staring at me in shock.
"Wicked," Fred and George said together, grinning proudly. I rolled my eyes before glancing down at the Prophet.
"Was there actually anything worth reading in this?" I asked Ron. He shook his head immediately.
"Thought so." Without hesitation, I ripped the paper clean in half and dropped it into a nearby bin. "Hey, Potter!" Malfoy suddenly snapped from farther down the corridor.
I looked at Harry and Ron. "Is he asking to get hexed?" The boys smirked before we all turned back around. Malfoy was glaring directly at Harry now.
"You stayed with the Weasleys this summer, didn't you?" he sneered. "Is their mother really that fat, or is it just the picture?"
Hermione immediately grabbed Ron before he could lunge. At the same time, Harry wrapped an arm around my waist to stop me from doing the exact same thing.
