The next morning, Hermione and I were woken by the sound of Mum knocking firmly on our bedroom door. "Up you two," she called through the wood. "Get showered, finish packing, and bring your trunks downstairs. We'll be leaving for King's Cross soon."
I groaned softly and pulled the blanket over my head while Hermione immediately sat upright, looking far more awake than any normal person should be at this hour.
"How are you functioning already?" I mumbled tiredly. Hermione looked entirely too pleased with herself. "I prepared everything last night."
"Of course you did." A laugh escaped her as she climbed out of bed and began gathering her things for the morning.
"You can have the shower first," she offered while opening her trunk. "I went first yesterday." I blinked at her suspiciously. "Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?"
She rolled her eyes. "Just go shower before I change my mind." Laughing quietly, I grabbed my clothes and towel before slipping into the bathroom.
The warm water helped wake me up properly, and by the time I finished showering, the lingering sleepiness had mostly faded away. After drying off, I changed into my clothes for the day before standing in front of the mirror.
For once, I decided not to spend ages trying to tame my hair. Instead, I simply brushed through the blonde strands and clipped back a few pieces from the front so they stayed out of my face.
Simple. Comfortable. Good enough for a long train ride back to Hogwarts. As I looked at my reflection, my mind briefly wandered back to the night before. Sirius Black, Dementors, and overheard conversations.
And Harry. Particularly, the wardrobe incident. Heat immediately rushed to my cheeks. "Oh, Merlin," I muttered to myself, covering my face with my hands for a second.
From the bedroom, Hermione's voice drifted through the door. "Allison? Are you alive in there?" Hermione asks. "Yes," I called back quickly. "Unfortunately."

Allison's outfit. Minus the bag. She would have the purse she got in France.
Once I finished in the bathroom, I stepped back into the bedroom, steam still curling faintly from my skin. "Your turn," I told Hermione as I placed my towel aside. "If I'm not here when you come out, I'll already be downstairs."
Hermione nodded while gathering her clothes. "Alright." As soon as she disappeared into the bathroom, I walked over to my trunk and carefully packed away my toiletries before double-checking everything inside for what felt like the hundredth time.
Books? Packed. Robes? Packed. Potion supplies? Packed. After making absolutely certain I had everything, I shut the trunk firmly and lowered it carefully onto the floor beside my bed.
