jungkook had waken up, just to fall asleep a couple hours later. he was curled up in the blankets in jimin's bed, snuggled close to the demon. he enjoy the heat jimin radiated, both literally and in a sense of comfort. simply having jimin to hold onto, just by the older being there in his time of weakness, it made him feel safe.
yoongi was asleep in his own room. opened books and pages filled with scribbled words were sprawled out across the floor. he was still looking into the spirit thing, eager to know what would happen to jungkook. but eventually fell asleep while trying. jimin was also fast asleep, despite the weight of jungkook's head on his shoulder. it didn't bother him at all. he eventually fell asleep while watching the other male sleep. he couldn't keep his eyes opened all night, especially after the roller coaster they've been through. and it wasn't over yet.
the house was silent besides the softest snores that came from each room. the quiet sound of a few cars roaming the streets could be heard inside, but the noise wasn't enough to disturb the peace. plus, they were pretty much used to hearing car horns or speeding vehicles throughout the night. meanwhile a sudden, uninvited heat began to fill the house as they slept. slowly but surely, jimin woke up in the middle of the night. he felt uncomfortable, not because of jungkook but because his entire body felt clammy and hot. he could feel the sweat beading on his forehead, probably transferring into his hair or into the pillow. his eyes eventually opened, adjusting to the dim light from his phone screen.
3:36 am.
jimin sighed and flopped his head onto the pillow. he stared up at the ceiling, quickly looking over at jungkook, who stayed asleep, then back up to the plain white paint above him. his fan wasn't on so nothing was creating a gentle breeze or circulating the air. he carefully pushed jungkook's head off of his shoulder, feeling a desperate need for some water. he slowly crawled out of the bed, trying not to move too much as to not wake the literal angel in his bed. before leaving the room, he turned the fan on to get the air moving. he hoped jungkook wasn't feeling the same heat he felt.
he turned the lights on to the kitchen and grabbed himself a cold water bottle. but he had nearly drank the entire bottle when he realize it didn't quench his thirst. his throat still felt dry and he still felt hot and sweaty. he started fanning his t shirt as if it could circulate the air a little more or at least cause a cool feeling to his skin, but it hardly helped. the fan in the living room wasn't in either. they didn't usually keep the fans on so it wasn't strange, but if he knew it was gonna be this hot, he would've prepared beforehand. his head snapped towards the hallway he just came from, watching as a tired, half asleep yoongi emerged from his room.
"why are you up?" yoongi asked tiredly, but confused seeing as his friend hadn't been in bed.
"i didn't feel comfortable... i was thirsty so i came to get some water," jimin left out the fact that he didn't feel different at all.
"ah really?" yoongi said, approaching jimin, scratching the back of his head as if the situation grew awkward.
"why are you up?" jimin asked, crushing the plastic bottle with his hand and putting it in the recycling bag.
"same reason actually... it felt very... hot in my room? i opened a window and it didn't help at all," yoongi said as his arm reached into the fridge to grab a water.
"it might be hot outside," jimin shrugged. "we could turn the fans on through," jimin said walking into the lounge room, flicking the switch to the fans on. yoongi downed his water like a shot while jimin did that. yoongi felt the same effects jimin felt from the water. nothing.
"weird..." yoongi mumbled to himself, looking at the empty bottle in his hand.
"what?" jimin asked, turning to him.
