i slipped on a jacket and went outside . on my way to the park , i thought about what joshua would say when i got there . it did seem important since he wanted to tell me in person .

it didnt take long until i arrived . i walked over to joshua who was sitting on a swing . as i sat on the swing beside him , he looked at me and started fidgeting with his fingers .

" so ? whats up ? " i asked .

he smiled nervously and took a deep breath , " y/n , i like you . "

( my heart fell to my ASS . jkjk sorry )

my eyes widened and my heart started beating out of my chest . of course i liked him back , but i couldnt help but think it was all just a prank .

i laughed , making his eyebrows furrow in confusion .

" why are you laughing ? " he asked .

" i know you're not serious josh . so who dared you ? or was it just a joke ? "

his face dropped , " w-what ? no im serious , i actually like you y/n/n . "

" look , you can give up the joke now , " i said , getting tired . he struggled to find the words to say as i just got up from the swing , " well , this was ... cool . i'll see you later . "

i walked away , leaving him in shock .

the next day , i went to a nearby cafe . i would always come here with josh . it was like our hang out place .

i was sitting at a table alone with my food and drink . i soon felt a presence in front of me . i looked up to see joshua with a bouquet of my favorite flowers .

" hey , whats this ? " i asked curiously . he handed them to me as i hesitantly took it .

" i bought them for you . since i like you , " he emphasized the next four words . i wouldnt give in . ive been pranked by guys many times this way , and i wouldnt fall for it this time .

" oh wow , thats sweet . how long are you going to keep this up though ? " i asked . he rolled his eyes .

" you still think im pranking you ? "

" its pretty hard to believe , " I admitted.

the next day

i was sitting in my apartment , watching netflix and eating snacks .

i then heard a knock on my door . i stood up from my couch and opened the door , revealing joshua with a giant teddy bear .

" surprise ! another present , " he smiled brightly . he walked inside and i closed the door behind him .

" josh , you cant keep on spending money on me just for a prank ! " i scolded .

" but its not a prank y/n !  i really like you , and i will do anything to prove that i do until you believe me ! " he said .

i sighed , " i- "

i was cut off by a pair of soft lips . something clicked in my brain , and i knew that joshua wasnt lying this time .

he pulled away and looked into my eyes , " did that seem like a prank to you ? "

i stood there in shock and mumbled , " okay ... i like you too . "
