i walked into my last class of the day . my eyes scanned the room until i found my best friend , joshua . i smiled and quickly sat next to him .
joshua and i had a bond that could never be broken . we were basically inseparable .
" hey loser , " i playfully nudged him as he flinched , not realizing i was next to him .
" hey stupid , " he teased back , " do you have to answers to the homework ? "
i found it funny how he would still copy my answers even though they were most likely to be wrong , because he knew he would at least get some credit .
" yeah , but this time you have to pay me back , " i smirked .
he softly laughed , " with what ? "
" youre paying for ice cream the next time we hang out . "
he rolled his eyes and snatched my paper , " fine . "
after about an hour , school ended and the dismissal bell rung . joshua and i walked home like we always did , because we were neighbors .
" alright , ill see you on monday . well not really since ill call you tonight , " he waved as i walked up to my porch .
" alright , see you ! " i called out .
i unlocked the front door and stepped inside my house . as soon as i got in and took off my shoes , i saw my guardian sitting on the couch with a concerning expression .
they looked at the floor and sighed when they noticed me .
" g/n ( guardian's name ) ? whats wrong ? " i asked .
" y/n ... i know this is gonna be a bit hard to hear but , we're moving , " they said with pain lacing their voice .
" w-what ? " my eyes starting tearing up , " why ? to where ? "
" s/n ( state name ) . i got a job there , " they said .
of course . they told me about this before but i never knew it would actually result to us moving to another state .
" but- i cant leave joshua ! please g/n ! hes my best friend i cant let him go ! " i broke down and ran up to my room .
i sat on my bed and sobbed . i was so torn and confused . i didnt know what to do . i decided to text joshua so that he can come over .
in about two minutes , joshua showed up at my front door , panting due to him running . g/n answered the door and told him that i was upstairs .
he knocked on the door , " y/n/n ? are you okay ? "
i slowly opened the door and looked up into his eyes . his eyes widened when he saw my red , puffy eyes and my tear stained cheeks .
i let him in and closed the door . he sat on my bed as i turned to face him .
" hey- " he started off .
" im moving , " my voice cracked as soon as those words left my mouth . it hurt so bad to see his expression turn into such grief and pain .
" no ... why ? " he stood up and held my hands . i looked away , knowing that if i looked into his heartbroken eyes , i wouldve broke down .
" g/n got a job at s/n . "
he let out a deep breath as his shaky hand went to caress my cheek . he turned my head so that i can look into his eyes .
we were both sobbing now .
" you could always call me- "
" its not the same ! i want to see you every day ! i want to hang out with you and spend time with you . whos gonna mess around with me during class ? " he said , holding me tight .
i sighed , " trust me josh , i want to stay . i want to stay so bad . "
he let go of me and nervously running his hands through his hair .
we stayed silent for a moment , taking some time to calm down .
" hey , do you wanna have our last rooftop talk ? " i asked .
he smiled and nodded .
we went outside my window and climbed up to the highest point of my roof . we spent about an hour talking about our memories ever since we were little .
after a bit of laughs and tears , he stopped to look at me .
" y/n , " he said . i turned to look at him , " i love you . "
we both looked down at eachothers lips before sharing a passionate kiss . we pulled away and smiled at eachother .
" i love you too joshua , and i wont forget you . "
