Rot snaps over her skin in an instant, growling, pushing off of the brick building. Their shared heart is thundering against their ribs. They barrel through the glass, crushing the man in bright red cloth to the ground, baring their teeth, long tongue falling free from their maw. They peer at Matt, crouched and panting heavily, cuts marring his entire body. Rot growls when the man beneath them manages to free himself.

"Ah, the symbiote. I was wondering if you knew each other." He mocks. Rot takes a small step back. "It will be an honor to take the life of your host and wear you. I will make our people proud."

Rot bristles, snarling. The man bows, before flinging himself into motion. He attacks Matt first, chained blade clawing his back again. Rot flings them towards the man, opening their maw wide, only for the blade to dig into their side and tug it towards him. Rot gags at the feeling, the blade going through its flesh and clawing her side. He yanks again, sending them tumbling to the floor. Already she feels herself being healed, Rot pushing themselves back up. The man swings again at Matt, wrapping around his stomach. Matt cries out at the man in red pulls him back. Rot can smell the blood leaking from Matt, staining his black clothes.

Rot pounces. The man in red and Rot trade blows, The man far faster than either were expecting. Again and again she's hit from inside of Rot, the blade cutting through him easily.

"I don't understand," She cries inside of Rot, as the blade runs through Rot and scratches down her arm. "Why can't bullet hurt us, but this can?"

'I don't know.' Rot murmurs, drawing back from the man, ribs heaving.

Matt screams as he's dragged across the floor, and they bounce back into fighting against the man again. Blades drag against their skin and Matt screams meld into theirs more than once. They kick the man away, his spine cracking against the wall as he cries out in anger. Matt lays on the ground, near bleeding out. She moves to his side, glancing over his wounds. They're everywhere- his back, his sides, his legs, flesh torn across his chest.

Rot moves their gaze back to the man who is slowly rising, before he pushes himself up.

"You have both fought well." He says, breathlessly. "It is not enough." Rot grabs Matt, dragging him backwards while hissing at the an who slowly steps towards them.

Matt flips himself up, the blade digging into Rots stomach. Evren screams inside of him, the blade digging into her intestines. Matt rolls out of the way, lips pulled back to reveal his snarl. The man in red flings the blade again, Rot deflecting it with a low growl. It hits the light, sparks flaring, hitting the liquid on the ground they didn't realize was there. Gas- they can smell it now, clear as day. Rot recoils, fleeing the flames that eagerly grow. Already she's healed, moving away as Rot cries out inside of their mind.

'Fire kills us.'

The man rushes straight for them, screaming. Rot leaps out of the way. Matt kicks the man down, falling against the ground himself. He breathes heavily, covering the gash on his stomach.

"Thank you."

Rot turns, glaring at the man who dared speak. Evren shudders, her stomach aching with the need to run. Matt slowly turns, grunting as blood runs down his skin. "Nobu was becoming an issue." Evren's blood runs cold. Fisk turns his gaze to her, eyeing her. "I see you have made a friend." Flames lick closer to them, eating away at the body in front of her. Rot makes a small noise, so small only Matt acknowledges it, tilting his head slightly. "Appreciate you both... removing him from concern."

"You..." Matt heaves in a breath. "You wanted me to do this."

"In a perfect world, you would have taken each other out, but..." He gestures towards her. "You had help, I see. It isn't a perfect world, is it? Not yet."
