She hears them yelling, loud and fast, and tilts her head from Veronica's grip. They'd been muttering in a corner, wondering what else Evren could be doing with her agency, other than protecting desperate people. Her name has spread, now, through the city. Someone who can be bought for protection, and will hardly turn anyone away. She's has more jobs within the past week, with the trial and people who hunt her down daily.
"Then you should be the one to tell Karen about her." Foggy snaps, harsh and angry.
She jumps to her feet, mumbling a pathetic excuse she doesn't even hear, and rushes down the hall. Matt is still in the bathroom, pacing, fury in his heart. She strides right passed the door, hearing the pause in his steps. Foggy is panicking and angry and she can smell the saline building in his eyes. Something slams in the bathroom, hard and heavy, just like Foggy's heart against his ribs. Rot snarls.
She whirls around when Matt tries to step around her, gripping onto his suit and forcing him to remains till. She swallows her anger, spotting Veronica peering around the corner.
"Stop, Matt." She sounds more tired than she feels. "Just stop. Talk to Karen. Stop being an asshole because you think it's better this way. I know you think I'm just a no one," she scoffs. "But god dammit, stop lying to everyone, or I swear to your God I'll tell them myself."
He swallows, hard and heavy, just like Foggy's pulse a floor up. "Evr-"
"Don't, Matt." She states, releasing her hold. He nearly stumbles. "I'm not lying, you know it. I need to go, and you need to stop whatever is going on before I do it for you." His voice dies in his throat. She glances at Karen, sighing. "Get a grip, Matt." She mutters, turning and striding into the elevator. She's rather endure the panic than stand with him for one more second. Veronica slides in, and Evren pulls the smaller woman into her arms without any hesitation, dropping her chin on warm brown hair. The doors snap shut.
The takes Veronica home is a daze, plating a kiss on her forehead and wishing her a goodnight. She listens as Ver locks the door once she enters, before retreating. Rot covers their skin and launches them into the night. They find Matt easily- his rage is through the roof, snarling heart raging against his ribs, burning sweat stinging his skin.
They yank him off of a woman, tossing him to the ground. They turn their dangerous eyes to the stranger, Elektra, who steps back, eyes wide.
'You. What do you want to do, here? Answer before I rip you apart.' Rot snarls, stepping closer. Her pulse jumps in her throat. 'Answer me!' Rot roars, and the woman flinches, skull hitting the wall behind her.
"I want to help Matthew. I-I want to end the Yakuza."
'You've done nothing but ruin everything for him since you have arrived.'
"I've been helping him." She snaps.
'No. You think you have. He is bitter and angry now. He does not think of his actions. He hurts everyone.' Matt's heart stops, all at once, and his breath goes hollow. 'You finish your business here and leave.'
"It would go faster if you helped." The woman purrs, but she flinches when Rot snarls in her face. "Matthew is trying to fool himself about who he is- he's the same as me." Rot simply tilts their head.
"No, I'm not." Matt spits, pushing himself to his feet. Rot turns its head and hisses. Matt stills.
'I help you, you leave. I do not care if I have to hurt you to make it happen.' Rot hisses. 'I will do this myself. You leave.' It adds, before twisting on its heels and jumping through the brick wall across the way. Evren doesn't fight against it, but she fights with it, tooth and claw and bite as they work their rage out against anyone and anything in their path until no one remains conscious and most walls and floors have gaping holes left behind.
