After hearing about Jessica Jones, and what she did, Evren wasn't quite expecting the sad drunk that stumbles through the doors of the elevator, only to get hit by them. If anything, Evren expected someone who, well, wasn't drunk. Neither of them thought much else of it. Jessica Jones, the woman who defeated Kilgrave, who killed at least fifty. A supposed hero, in the eyes of everyone but the law. Jones isn't quite as popular as Daredevil, or Rot, but she's brave to not hide behind a mask. Brave, stupid, or uncaring.
"Miss Jones?" Michelle asks, clearing her throat beneath her breath. "My name is Michelle Raymond. This is my daughter Lexi. We need your help."
"I can't." Jones mutters, cu sloshing with coffee that smells more like whiskey than anything else.
"I'm sorry, we weren't sure if we were in the right place-"
"Not today." Jones sighs. "Probably not tomorrow, either."
Lexi scoffs. "Come on, mom." She snaps, pushing from the wall and walking away. Evren tilts her head at the PI.
"I read about what you did." Michelle states, refusing to give up. She didn't give up when Evren tried telling her that she has other people to work with, too. Evren eventually caved in.
"She doesn't give a shit." Lexi hisses.
"My husband is missing."
"She's a walking shitshow anyways." Lexi adds. Jones tosses her a glare over her shoulder.
"Excuse me?"
"Lexi, please." Michelle murmurs. "We are not doing great. He has been gone a full week."
Jones sighs. "Did you call the cops?"
"No."
"Why not? They're free."
"Money's not an issue. Something is wrong and I know it. John's like clockwork. He-he's an architect. He goes to work every morning at eight am. He comes back home every night at six thirty. But lately he's-"
"He's been different? Secretive?" Jones interrupts, tiredly. "Maybe even a little nervous?"
"And it's not like him."
"Because he's cheating on you, okay? Nothing to be ashamed about. It happens all the time." She turns her back, hands fiddling with the knob.
"You don't know him like I do."
"I don't need to. But you came to me and I'm giving you my professional opinion. You need a divorce lawyer." Keys jangle.
"Thank you for your time, Ms. Jones." Michelle murmurs, stiffly, before turning.
"I'll catch up." Evren mutters, waving them onwards. Jones tosses a glare over her shoulder.
"What do you want?"
"Ah, just to give you my professional opinion." Evren shrugs. "Husband like clockwork, suddenly disappears, and for whatever I look into, I can't figure out where he went. Might be a fun thing to do while you finish that whiskey."
Jones glances over her. "It's coffee." The, she turns, door opening, and calls after Michelle. "Hey. Whatever he's doing... I hope you find him." With a final glance at Evren, she slams her door.
'Wow.'
Evren hums, following after Michelle, stepping into the elevator and pressing the button for teh first floor.
"I'll take you back to your house, then I have to go to my other jobs, Michelle."
The woman sighs. "Yeah, okay, Ms. Wells."
