"So," The man starts. Matt is on the couch, completely blacked out. Evren is lounging on a chair, Rot complaining about how long it's taking Matt to wake up. Evren ignores it. "uh, Evren? How do you know Matt?"

'Why is he taking so long to wake up?' Rot repeats, sourly, once more.

The apartment smells even more like the nurse that came by- she didn't really offer any explanations, glancing over her for wounds before settling by Matt and piecing him back together. Evren recognized her- the nurse that Matt took her to. She didn't say hello to the nurse, who stayed silent, just like the stranger did. By the looks of it, the stranger never saw the woman in his life before then, and only knew to text her because of the burner phone that somehow survived the river in Matt's pocket.

She sighs, not looking up from her hands. "Long story or short one?"

"I don't see Matt getting up anytime soon." He responds, voice bitter. "I've never even met you. What else is he hiding from me?"

"I don't know. I've only known him for like a week, maybe. I don't even know. Uh. We kinda met when I was having a rough time." She shrugs. "I don't know if you'd want to know about it. It's pretty fucked up."

"I'm tired of things being kept from me." He responds, voice strong, yet eyes smoldering with hurt staring at her calmly. His gaze drops away and he sighs, shoulders slumping. She nods, popping her back with an easy twist in the chair before turning her gaze back to him. "I'm tired of it."

"Well. I don't remember who I am. Amnesia. Woke up in a weird hospital. Had a parasite of sorts shoved in me. Got out when the building got caught on fire. Said thing likes to eat, eh," She hesitates. "people?" She says, slowly, though it sounds more like a question. The man is silent for a second.

"What the fuck?" He yelps, leaping from the chair. "You eat people? Like the Purple People Eater from that one really, really bad song? What the fuck?"

She raises her hands in front of her. "I don't want to. Besides, it's dealt with! I don't have to eat people at all. I have to get some sort of vitamin or whatever he needs and it'll be fine--"

"He?" He screeches, voice rising in pitch.

"Uh. Yeah. Its name is Rot, I guess."

"It has a name?" He yells, before turning around, hands raised. "Nope. Nope. I'm done here. I'm just gunna go--"

"Please don't." She murmurs, staring at him. "You're the first person who hasn't run away screaming, or the only person I can really trust right now." She gestures towards Matt. "Besides, you're his friend, so you're guaranteed safety."

He sighs, flopping back down in the chair. "Promise you won't eat me? I'm not meaning, like, the sexy time, I mean cannibalism."

She sighs. "I won't, be assured." She snaps. "Anyways," She gestures towards the unconscious Matt yet again. "He 'found' me. Helped me, and I helped him. But, uh..." She trails off. "I remember a couple of things. I think I used to work for Fisk- he manipulated me. I don't know why, I don't know what he threatened me with. But, uh, my fiance works for him too." She digs her nails into her hand. The urge to tug her hair is strong enough that she has to gulp and tighten her grip. "He tried to kill us." She murmurs, voice hushed. Rot throbs in her ribs.

"Holy shit. Did he do that?" He throws his hands towards Matt.

"No. that was someone else- Nobu." Her eyes glaze with frustrated tears. "God, I don't even remember anything. I was panicing and all I could focus on was James, even as he pointed that stupid gun at me."

The man in silent. "I"m sorry, Ev."

She tilts her head. "Ev?"

He shrugs. "I guess I can trust you. You helped Matt. You haven't killed me. Your parasite, or whatever it is, is another story. It can think right? It has a name." She nods. "Yeah. That's creepy, man."
