"The Hand in an ancient criminal organization."

"Define ancient."

"They live forever." Danny explains around a mouthful of bread. Jessica scoffs.

"You wanna try that again?"

"They live by a fanatical ideology." Matt adds, shaking his head.

"Every member would die for it." Evren continues, stabbing a piece of beef with a chopstick and popping it in Rot's mouth, who purrs.

"So they're terrorists?" Luke questions, brows furrowed.

"No. Terrorists want the world to know what they're doing. This is something more secret, more evil."

"And they're global." Danny says.

"So," Luke shrugs with his arms. "What do they do?"

Evren heaves a loud sigh. "Everything." She states, waving her arms.

"Including the recruitment of young men in Harlem?"

"Apparently. They're in new York for a reason." Danny takes another bite. "I don't know why."

"Wait- fanatical ideology?"

"Gonna sound crazy--"

"What do they want?"

"Immortality." Evren announces, lazily pushing herself onto her feet to stand with them. "They want power, all across the world. Figured that was kind of obvious. They have control of the drug trade, of hopeless kids in Harlem, apparently." She shifts on her feet. "Pretty sure Fisk used to be under their control or working with them."

"Fisk?"

"No one." Matt snaps, frowning towards Evren.

'He never likes to talk about Fisk.'

"And I think they want me." Danny says, sighing.

Jessica frowns. "For your money?"

"No." He clears his throat. "I'm the Immortal Iron Fist."

Matt leans his head forward, hands on his hips. "Come again?"

"Sworn protector of K'un-Lun." Danny says, as if it explains everything.

"Of who?"

"What are you on, lithium?" Jones mutters, mouth twisted in distaste.

"So, who was the woman with the swords?" Luke asks, cutting off any snarky remark from Danny, who instead sighs once more.

"I'm not sure, but I fought her in Cambodia."

"Yeah, and she showed up at my doorstep." Jones snarls. Matt twists towards her.

"Wait, she's the one that came after your client?"

"Yeah. Why? Do you know her?"

"No-no." Matt answers, tilting his head away.

'He's such a bad liar.'

"I know." Evren mutters. The three, besides Matt, glance at her, but seem to understand she wasn't talking to them after a breath of silence.

"Well, she sure knew what she was doing." Luke says, glancing at Evren, Jones, then Matt.

'Ah, they noticed he was lying, or they're skeptical of us.'

"The Hand trains fighters to be merciless. But, whoever she was, man, she was something else."

"I'm sorry, this is a mistake. I gotta go." Matt says, suddenly, waving his hand towards the group, stepping away.
