Josie's is a welcome sight. Nestled at the bar, leaning near Foggy with Matt on his other side, she nurses a negroni. Rot keeps them alert- though there's hardly a need to. Ever since the break up with Veronica, the woman's been avoiding the bar like a plague. After all, Veronica never really liked being at the bar except with her friends or Evren.
"Been a long time, Josie." Foggy chirps. He just arrived a few minutes before, flopping into his seat with the grace of someone who's tired and refuses to sleep, or someone who works far too much but enjoys it. "I can't tell you how much I missed this place."
"Oh, so Mr. Uptown misses our humble establishment." She chuckles, wiping down the bar with a rag she sprayed with Lysol. Matt shakes his head.
"How's work?" Foggy questions, to no one in particular. Evren lifts her cup, leaving Matt to answer. "I heard about that settlement." There it is. He's asking Matt. The two don't talk much, at least not lately, but her and Foggy talk enough to be caught up with each other constantly. Evren smiles, while Matt tosses her a subtle frown. "Eleven million."
"Yeah." Matt answers, setting his beer back down.
"You sure you wanna stay pro bono?"
Matt chuckles. "I'm just happy I could help." Josie sets a cup in front of his hands, so it grazes his knuckle. "Thanks, Josie." He turns to Foggy. "How about you? How's things?"
'This is painful. We feel awkward just sitting here.'
"Yeah." She mutters, leaning her cheek on her palm and watching the two.
"Good. Big office. Far from what we dreamed of when we were kids, but at least I get to see Marci a lot." He pauses, leaning slightly towards Evren with a wink. "After hours."
"That's great, Foggy."
"Naked, I mean." Foggy continues, smirking.
Evren snorts into her drink.
'Ew.'
"Rot says ew." She mutters. Foggy turns a hurt glare towards her, mouth falling open dramatically.
"Says the slime-ball."
Evren smiles, shaking her head. "No comment."
"Hey, thanks for reaching out." Matt says, drawing Foggy's attention back to him. "It's, uh, been a while, huh?"
"That it has." He shifts. "I talked to Karen. She said you guys grabbed coffee. I don't mean to pry, but where you guys at? Relationship status."
Evren scowls. Matt didn't tell them anything about meeting with Karen.
Matt shrugs. "We are 'figuring ourselves out.'"
"Good. After you told her your little secret, lucky she didn't freak out and have us both disbarred, and, well, Evren thrown in jail, or something."
'He's going to see Matty's knuckles.
"We can trust her." Matt says, near defensively.
"I know." Foggy responds, shrugging. "You can trust me too." There's a long silence, Evren lifting her fingers for another. Josie nods, turning to prepare the drink. "How you doing after last night?"
"Uh. Yeah, good. It was, uh, crazy."
"That's not what I'm talking about."
'And there it is. I told you he would figure it out.'
"I heard you the first seven times you said it, you big baby." Evren mutters. Foggy hardly glances at her and Matt remains grim.
"You don't have to say it," Foggy continues, shaking his head. "Your knuckles speak volumes. "
