"We need to lay low. They'll come for us."

"Bullshit." Stick snaps. "They'll come for her. What is this?" He adds, wriggling in the chair.

"Sorry, old man, but I just can't take chances with you anymore." Matt responds, leaning forward and wiping away blood on Stick's face.

"You're naive."

"I'm calling for pizza." Evren says, interrupting them both. "Save it for a few minutes." The phone beeps, and she shifts her tone from warning to polite. "Hi! Yeah, can I get two large cheese pizzas? Nope. Mhm. Thank you." She hangs up and sighs. "Okay, continue your arguing. Keep in mind, I'll eat most of what comes."

"She should be tied to this chair, not me." Stick continues, though he did stay silent during her call.

"She is not the problem. They are."

"They're gonna turn this city upside down looking for her, Matty. They'll watch it burn."

"What's why I said we need to work together."

"There is no together. All these years, I tried to tame her. I should have let her bleed out in the back of that car."

"Yea-" Evren starts, only for Matt to cut her off.

"You know, you should show some damn gratitude. She spared your life."

"The Black Sky cannot be controlled, manipulated, or transported. It must be extinguished at all costs."

"You wanna talk about being naive?" Matt scoffs. "Cause right now you're tied to a chair, spouting rhetoric about an ancient war."

Stick sighs. "Do you even have a plan?"

"He probably doesn't." Evren interjects, waiting for the shitty game to load. It's called Maggy Puzzles, or something like that, and it looks ridiculous, but she's bored enough to play it. Rot's asleep- or at least halfway. It most likely won't let itself actually sleep around Stick, or Elektra.

"I'm working on it." Matt grumbles, wiping more at Stick's face.

"Well, while you're working on it, son, do me a favor and pull your head out of your ass. The Black Sky--"

"The Black Sky is bullshit, Stick. It's a myth. No one believes it but you."

"Every assassin in the Hand believes it. What do you think they're gonna do about it?"

"What about what I believe, Stick...?"

"Finally, it god damn loaded."

"...What about what I'm gonna do about it?" Matt questions, before scooping up and bowl and storming into his kitchen.

"Jesus this game sucks so bad." Evren mutters. She continues playing it.

Matt sighs at the sink. "I'll be right back." He mutters, making his way up to the roof. Stick scoffs.

"Yeah, have fun with your girlfriend."

The door slams shut behind him. Evren drops her phone on her stomach. "Do you even like pizza? Or does it-" She waggles her fingers. "I don't know, screw up your sensory thing?"

Stick rolls his unseeing eyes. "It's disgusting. No, I do not eat it."

"Lame." Evren says, pushing herself to a stand. "Let me know if you change your mind. It should be done by now." She pats his shoulder as she passed him. "Don't let Elektra kill you, and I'll be back soon enough. Probably."

Stick doesn't respond and she wanders down the hall, pointedly ignoring the conversation Matt is having with Elektra.

'And Veronica thought we slept with him. Tch.'
