Two days had passed since Kenneth and Olwethu's altercation and Nkuli was still not speaking to him. She felt that though her children were disrespectful and wrong, he was more wrong for fighting him. They could have talked it out. Minnie and Olwethu were traumatized too in the process. Minnie was not talking to her father but because of fea. She feared him now. He did not even get the chance to tell her about the other child he's expecting.

' Babe can we talk please.'

Nkuli turned down the heat on her stove. She was making dinner and the children were all in their bedrooms.

' I just wanted to say I am sorry for grabbing our son like that. I was wrong I should have handled it better. I won't tolerate their disrespect though.'

' Apology accepted but you have to talk to him too. You also have to talk to Minnie. You know you're her definition of a hero and seeing you grab her brother like that scarred her.'

' I know and I will talk to her. Just there's something much more important I wanted to talk to you about.'

Nkuli gave him her undivided attention as she noticed how stressed he was about whatever it was they needed to talk about and intuition told her it was bad.

' So I got a call from Jessica two days back....'

He explained to her what the call said and what happened when he met up with her.

' ...She's pregnant and she claims it's mine.'

Kenneth stood quietly waiting for that outburst, for her to scream and shout and tell him how hurt and dissapointed she was and maybe how she never wanted to see him again but it never came. Nkuli just stood starring at him as if she did not believe him. Nkuli on the other hand wanted to act out and do all that but she just felt that it was unnecessary. It hurt like hell and shocked her but throwing tantrums would not help anything. His ex girlfriend was having his baby and no amount of cussing or screaming would change that.

' You say she claims, what do you believe?'

Kenneth was shocked for a moment when she calmly asked him that.

' We'll, I am not sure. Not that I think she was messing with other men but why wait so long to tell me.'

' Maybe she needed to come to terms with it. Maybe she thought you'd force her to adopt or maybe she thought you did not deserve to know. Whatever the reason is, it don't matter. You're having a child by her and I want to know is what you plan on doing about it?'

' Wait what?'

This calm Nkuli confused him. When she found out about his extra marital activities she was livid. She turned their home upside down before throwing him out of their home but not today. She was just too calm for his sanity.

' What do you plan on doing about this child?'

' Are you not mad?'

' Oh, trust me husband I am but what good will me acting crazy help. Nothing. The child is there and you have to step up to your responsibilities. '

' I don't know. I'm not even sure that child is mine.'

' That's why there's d.n.a testing.'
