Hand in hand, Nkuli walked into the restaurant with her husband. Who had set up a meeting with his ex girlfriend in order to discuss the unborn child. She did not want to be here but he said he needed her input. Nkuli was not sure how she felt about this baby but figured that it happened while they were separated and she really could not be mad about it. Her own bump was slowly starting to show. Hence she had on a free flowing dress with a cardigan. Though it was summer it had rained that night making the day cloudy.' Are you okay?'
Kenneth noticed how quiet she had been all the way here and the rest of the night after he told her the news. Her reaction to his news surprised him and he did not know what to do or not do.
' Just a little headache but nothing to worry about.'
Kenneth knew she was stressing, hence the headache plus she was tossing and turning so much last night he could not get much sleep. Nkuli did not like taking anything not prescribed by a professional especially when pregnant so he knew suggesting paracetamol was out of the question. They were directed to a table where Jessica was already seated eating. Nkuli instantly knew that she was having a boy because she ate as much with her twins.
' Hello Jess.'
Jessica looked up and her smile quickly left when she noticed Kenneth was not alone.
' I thought we were going to discuss our baby?'
' Well she's my wife and she needs to be here.'
'She wasn't when she kicked you out or for the past year and she sure wasn't when you were sleeping with me.'
' Kenny-'
Nkuli was cut off by him asking her to sit down which she reluctantly did. She did not want to cause a scene. Kenneth was already getting agitated by his girlfriend.
' You said you wanted to discuss the baby?'
' His name is Kenneth junior and yes.'
Nkuli suddenly needed to vomit, not sure if it was the morning sickness or the woman infront of her. She asked Kenneth to move and she quickly slipped out of the booth and headed to the toilets.
' Did you have to bring her with you Kenny?! This is our baby and I wanted us both to discuss him with no interruptions.'
' Like I said she's my wife and I wanted her here.'
' That's bull, you were separated for almost a year. She was ready to file a divorce and you already had started your own life with me. You cannot now tell me that she's your wife.'
' Jessica stop it. Yes all that did happen but we're working on our marriage because we love each other and for the sake of our children.'
' I am having your baby too. This is a sign babe, that we're meant to be. You can file for divorce and start a new life with us. '
' When is your next doctor's visit and what was said in the last one. How much do you pay for each visit?'
Kenneth said ignoring her. Nkuli came back looking drained which caused him to worry. Worse when she asked for his car keys and left to go sit in the car.
