Chapter 57: The Storm

As soon as Carmine swung his battleaxe, every single one of the twelve assassins evaded in a different direction. It did not take them long to surround Carmine at all sides, which only proved that these weren’t your everyday stupid henchmen. Thalia fired an electricity covered shot directly into the back of one of the Assassins, causing a loud sparking sound to go off. Carmine immediately picked up on Thalia’s attack and amplified the sound of the spark, causing a loud thundering boom to knock the assassin’s off their feet. Half of the Assassins flew backwards but then stopped themselves mid air as the rage semblance began to kick in. Carmine pinned one of the assassins down and shot her in the leg, knocking the assassin out. He back flipped away from the incoming gust of wind from one of the assassins and fired round after round of his assault rifle ammo. Thalia fired two or three more of her shots, which of course Carmine amplified.

The results of the electricity with sound amplification were devastating. It was almost sereal how quickly enemies would go unconscious or wounded within seconds. Not to mention the sound of lightning followed by the loud booming thundering noise was intimidating, if not a warning to everyone else that they will lose to Carmine and Thalia just as quickly as these few did. Carmine grinned as he sheathed his weapon, “That was badass!” he shouted. Thalia laughed slightly as she kept her rifle close to her side, “Hunter was right, our semblances do work well together”. Carmine scratched his head and paced around in a circle. Thalia looked at the faunus in confusion, as what he was doing was not explained or practical. Suddenly Carmine stopped and snapped his fingers, “I got it! We’ll be known as the Storm if we work together, since you’re the lightning and I’m the thunder” Carmine explained excitedly, almost like a little kid. Thalia smiled and nodded in approval, even she had to admit it was quite clever.

“Celeste?” a female voice called out as Celeste and Night walked through the base’s hallways. Celeste looked up and noticed a woman in a long sleeved hoodie perched up on top a perch, presumably one that once had one of the Gargoyle Grimm positioned on it. Celeste gasped as the woman turned her head and realised the long strand of hair covering her left eye, much like how Celeste’s hair covers her right eye. “M-mom?” Celeste mumbled. Carina hopped down from the perch and held her staff close to her side, “What are you doing here?” she questioned firmly. Despite not seeing her daughter for years, Carina could feel that Celeste wasn’t coming back for a family reunion. Celeste glanced at Night and motioned for him to leave while she deals with Carina. Night nodded and sprinted down a different hallway. “So you’ve brought others? Why?” Carmine asked as she readied her feet for any quick movements. Celeste withdrawed her two machetes and kept them hidden under her cloak,

“I know what you and Dad have been up to” Celeste said ominously. Carina paused for a moment and closed her eyes as she sighed, “So you do? I’m sure you must understand, these fools from the White Fang and Military are not keeping or making peace anytime soon, let alone solving either disagreements by fighting one another. So what is the Splitting Spectres are becoming more active? In the end, your father and his judgements are cleaning the world of all the filth that we don’t need” Carina explained,

“If you’re here to try and stop us as I expect, I suggest you turn back from where you came from Celeste. It pains me to tell you to leave after not seeing my beloved daughter for this long, but you must trust me, this is the right thing to do” Carina finished. Celeste paused and thought carefully about her mother’s words. “So you and Dad are willing to kill people, to get rid of this “filth”, yet by doing this you two have become no better” Celeste retaliated, “I love you Mom, but this has to end, one way or another. Will you let me pass to confront my father, or will I have to go through you?” she questioned in a firm tone. Suddenly Carina’s usual dark blue hair became a whitish-gray colour as gusts of wind surround the area, “I’m sorry, but as precious as you are to me, I can’t let you stop your father’s plans”.

Back in Vale:

“I’m just sayin’, that Leo guy nearly killed Roman Torchwick for us!” One of the two security guards said. The other guard shook his head in disappointment, “It’s a shame that guy somehow survived the attack for Leo the Lurker. Seriously how to you meet that guy and come out alive?” Suddenly the wall behind them busted open, knocking the two out cold as they lay under the rubble. A woman with long, light-blue hair walked through the wall with a sly grin on her face. She walked over towards the prison cells and laughed to herself upon finding Salvador’s cell. The cells in the Vale prison were unlike any kind of prison. The cell itself was made of some kind of metal that could resist any kind of element or blunt force; however it can be cut with relative ease. This is because all prisons stay in the cells without their weapons of course, so it’s really a means of control their semblance or their own strength. Nakisai punched the door to the cell, leaving a huge indent in the door. She laughed once again as she said, “Blunt hit proof, my ass!” she mocked as another punch sent the door flying forwards. Salvador just barely dodged the incoming door as he glared at Nakisai,

“What the hell was that?! You could’ve given me some kind of warning!” he protested as Nakisai stood in the doorway. “I came back to save you, did I not, partner?” she replied with a sly look. She knew that there was no way Salvador could talk back to her after hearing that. He sighed and rolled his eyes, “Yeah, thanks. I’ll be collecting my weapon in the storage, which I’m assuming you’ve already destroyed?” Nakisai nodded as she replied with a “Mhmm” sound. She then made her way towards Drake’s cell and then Mono’s cell, in which she busted down the doors the same way she busted Salvador’s door cell down. Mono smiled as she walked out of her cell, “Thank you, Nakisai. I’m sure breaking through Vale’s security was no problem for you?” Nakisai shook her head and cracked her knuckles, “The soldiers here are a joke and the sad thing is their mechs are no better!” Nakisai answered with a smirk. Eventually the captive members of MDNS took back their weapons, clothing and whatever else they were carrying when they were caught. The then walked out of the prison with ease, as Nakisai had destroyed any opposers that would try to stop them on the way there,

“Team MDNS is back in action and now our first targets will be Beacon” Mono exclaimed through a smirk.

Night opened the door to a large room; the walls were covered in weapons, armours, documents and various other sheets of paper, as if someone had been planning something for years and years. There was a desk in the middle of the room, as well as the room lead to what looked like some sort of training grounds. Much like most of the rooms in the base, there was hardly anyone or anything in it. However looks can be deceiving, because there was indeed someone in the room. Night could sense the aura of someone, but the thing that struck him was how there was only one person. Previously Assassins had attacked in groups.

“I know you’re in here, show yourself” Night ordered. Suddenly a figure wearing a mask over his face appeared only a few feet away from Night. He wielded two long swords, as well as he had a light grey hair colour. His golden-yellowish eyes glared at Night, “How dare you attack my organisation” the man scuffed. Night stared to walk around the room in a circle as the man did the same. “So, are you this, Leo the Lurker I’ve heard so much about?” Night asked. The man took off the mask over his mouth and grinned, “So I am! However you won’t live to tell anyone else” Leo threaten,

“Once I’m finished with you, I’ll take care of any of the other fools you dared to bring with you on your idiot quest to stop me”.
