Chapter 90: The Vessel Attack (Part 1)

“What’s the plan from here, Hunter?” Night questioned as he prepared his chains. Hunter scanned the army of villains and then glanced back at his team, “The scouts are all humans infected with Void, therefore any kind of range combat will keep you and I safe, as for the rest; the majority have ranged weapons so we’ll try our best to keep them back until ROCK and CRMN get here!” Hunter ordered as he spawned five clones to stand at his side. Night set his chains aflame and then smirked, “So their dust negating technology doesn’t affect any semblances, even ones involving an unique element!” Dust readied his fists and grinned, “Let’s rock!” Hunter and his five clones rushed in to fight the first row of vicious Grimm-like humans as he hacked them apart while his clones fired dozens of bullets at the men and women who dared to try and attack him. Thalia stood in the back of the team and sniped down any Void-humans falling behind the group and occasionally shot down a few of the soldiers who tried to attack HNTD with their guns. As reckless as ever, Dust sprinted towards the enemy lines and punched and stabbed his way through dozens of enemies before standing in the middle of the crowd. “Dust! What are you doing!?” Night shouted as he launched dozens of flaming chains around his enemy’s limbs as he smashed and slammed them into the ground or into one another before shooting a crossbow bolt through their heads. Thalia fired a bullet at the ground near Dust and then watched as surges of electricity spouted out at the soldiers and stunned a few as Dust recklessly punched and blasted his way through them. Professor Reza set up a few Glyphs and then flew in between each Glyph, hacking and slashing through dozens of the menacing foes before landing next to Dust as she covered his back. After quickly changing her left katana into a grenade launcher, she glanced back at him and sighed, “Your friend Magenta should’ve told you to be smarter in combat!” she scuffed before dodging a few bullets. Suddenly Hunter’s five clones activated their flame throwers as they calmly walked towards the army, burning a few of his foes alive. Hunter stood back with Night as his clones posed as a distraction, “So how do we stop this dust negation bullshit?” Hunter asked as he kept low to the ground with Night. Thalia sprinted in towards the army and switched her sniper into a lance as she jabbed it into the stomach of one of the Void humans while also using her shield to bash the ribcage of another soldier. “As far as I know, if we stay out of view of those soldiers; the ones who are wearing the goggles then our dust will work again... however judging by the presence of the tower I’d assume that destroying the tower is the best bet to get rid of the dust negation!” Hunter growled and analyzed the titanic structure that shadowed over the marsh, “We don’t have the time or the fire power to take down that tower, and we’ll have to shut it down from the inside!” Hunter declared. Night nodded and readied the blade on Midnight Eclipse, “You’re right, but at this rate the only way we’re getting in there is by killing off these guys. Thankfully the fully infected Void users appear to have weakened aura when in their fully voided state... as a matter of fact most of them seem to have a lack of resistance to bullets and weapons that aura grants us, therefore nearly all of them could be Void users. Be careful out there; Hunter” Night explained before let out a flaming aura and flying into the middle of the army.

“It appears the small group is resisting our army quite efficiently” Skyla announced as she looked back at Jace. He stood over his desk as he watched the large screen in front of him of Team HNTD killing off his henchmen, “No matter, Skyla. We didn’t hire these men to be proud, worthy units! That’s where you, Slate and Harlequin come in!” Slate jumped down from the ceiling and pulled out his two pistols which had blunt spikes on the bottom of the pistol, “Will do. Of course throw in us with the mass number of henchmen out there and those five won’t survive”. A woman in a dark mahogany cloak with a hood walked in and silently listened to Jace’s conversation with Slate, “Precisely, Slate! However keep Abnormal in our base; if anyone gets in then we’ll take care of it. However if he’s defeated or killed; firstly, thank god!” Jace joked, which caused Slate to laugh and Skyla to grin, “Secondly, our friend Ivory is prepared for any intruders near the Void Cannon; the device that will begin our world wide spread of Void. Therefore; we won’t need to worry about the Grimm anymore. Humans and dust were brought into a world that was already laid out; already complete and ready to thrive with Grimm; yet dust’s existence destroyed that life. The only reason Grimm attack us is because we’re invaders! Either they kill us, or the forces and powers above that originally created that world for Grimm will. And as you all know; The Vessel and all of us agree that neither is a good option; so why don’t we all change to live life, the way it was originally intended to be!” Jace shouted as he smirked. He glanced over at the woman in the cloak and hood and grinned, “Well if it isn’t Dr Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde!” The woman gritted her teeth as her purple eyes glared at Jace, “I told you not to call me that!” Jace grinned and grabbed a bag full of BB pellets from his desk, “Relax, Harlequin; relax” he spoke softly in a mocking way, “Don’t get your little green ponytail in a twist! Anyways, I’ll meet you all out on the battlefield momentarily; I’ve got some preparations to make” Jace ordered as Skyla, Slate and Harlequin rushed out of the tower to meet their new foes.
