Chapter 82: Camping part 1

Around 4:34 AM, Ozpin stepped into Professor Reza’s laboratory and stared at Hunter as he glanced over at Ozpin. “Hey” Hunter greeted. Ozpin walked up to the cage and then looked down at Hunter, “So you’re the Grimm-like monster that’s been causing all of this chaos”. Hunter was about to reply, but then Ozpin interrupted him, “Now, I realise that you didn’t do any of the damage on purpose, so there will be no strike against you for that, Hunter. Besides, you’re far more valuable honing your skills and giving me information than you are out there dealing with a vicious beast inside of you” Ozpin explained, “However I have the same pressing question as you do; how are we going to get rid of this?” Hunter shrugged and slowly moved his right hand to grab onto his left, “I don’t know... my father talked to me about this and he described that the Blood Wolf can be contained and controlled. As far as for how long though, he only mentioned that it wouldn’t take too long. However, as far as what Dire considers to be “not too long” is unknown, he could be talking about days, weeks, months, who knows. After all as far as I know he’s had the Blood Wolf for years now”. Ozpin scratched his chin and mumbled under his breath. He looked up at Hunter as the hooded Faunus suddenly growled and roared as the Grimm-dust began to surround his body as the titanium doors raised to block Hunter in. Ozpin’s eyes widened as the sound of a large creature basing into the metal echoed throughout the lab as roars and shrieks cried out and rang in Ozpin’s ears. He took a minute to observe what he could and then turned back to leave the enraged monster alone in its cage.

“It’s morning, it’s morning, it’s mooooorning!!” Nora shouted as she jumped up and down as she stood with JNPR, RWBY, CRMN, ROCK and HNTD and Celeste of DARC. “Yes Nora, it’s morning” Ren said calmly as usual. It was safe to say that at 6:30 AM Nora was the only one pleased that it was morning. Carmine seemed pretty uppity too, but then again Carmine was always happy and if he wasn’t happy then something was seriously wrong. Dust looked around and then sighed, “Where is Steelsworth?” he groaned. Immediately Dust and a few others looked at Night for answers, which threw off the blacksmith for a second. “I’m wondering the same thing you are, Dust! He may just be running late, OR he’s making sure he has enough repair equipment to fix his rocket-propelled desk while he’s out on the trip” Night guessed. Ruby looked over at her team and sighed, “I don’t want to be awake...” she muttered as her eyes slowly drooped down. Weiss crossed her arms in protest as she exclaimed, “Wake up, you dunce!” Ruby jolted back awake and nodded, “I’m awake- I think...” she mumbled awkwardly. Yang grinned and hugged her sister tightly, “Aw c’mon Sis! The mornings aren’t that bad!” Ruby struggled to break free of Yang’s grasp as she squirmed and grunted, “Sis... you’re hugging too hard!” she exclaimed. Roxy watched and laughed as she nudged Charlotte in the arm with her elbow, “Hey, those two don’t even look like they’re sisters!” Charlotte nodded and brushed her blonde hair back behind her ears, “Agreed” she replied. Kevin scratched to top of his head and looked at his two teammates with an unsure stare, “Um... you two don’t look that related either” he began to say, “I mean Roxy has pink hair and Charlotte has blonde hair and-“Orchid stood in front of Kevin and poked his forehead, “Damn it Kevin! You’re ruining the moment here, scrub!” she mocked. Kevin immediately shut up and scratched the back of his head, “I’m just sayin’ they look as alike as Ruby and Yang do...” he mumbled. Suddenly Steelsworth flew up to the group as he sat in his rocket-propelled desk and laughed, “You kids really are something else! Now, is everyone ready?” he asked. Everyone nodded and then Steelsworth smirked, “Alright, follow me onto the airship and from there we’ll fly to our camping site! I know exactly where we’ll set up camp” he explained with great excitement.

After boarding the airship and after the short flight, Steelsworth landed the aircraft in an open space that proved perfect for landing. Once the vehicle came to a stop, he stood up from the pilot’s seat and smiled, “Alright, let’s get set up near the small lake nearby! You’ll see what I’m talking about once you’re out there” he explained as he opened the hatch as the students walked out. Steelsworth then sat back down in his desk and hovered out of the aircraft and pointed to the open spaced area near the lake, “This is where we’ll be setting up camp! Now, did everyone bring tents?” he asked. One student from each team nodded and held up their sleeping bag to show the Blacksmith. “Excellent job, students! Now, do you mind if I see your tents for a brief second?” he asked one more time. The students carrying the sleeping bags placed the folded up tents down on the desk in front of his chair and then took a few steps back. Steelsworth pulled out his binder and a pen and smiled, “Well prepared as always, I see” he noted. Suddenly Steelsworth set his desk down to land and then grabbed all the folded tents and walked towards another open area away from their camping zone. The students watched in confusion as Steelsworth threw the folded tents in an organized pile and then stepped back. “You may be well prepared students, but these useless things won’t be necessary!” Steelsworth shouted as his binder turned into a C4 as he tossed it directly in the middle of the pile of tents. He clicked down on his pen and then laughed as the tents exploded into thin air. “See children, I have created something to render those damned things useless!” Steelsworth reached into his pocket and pulled out five odd-looking metallic orbs. He handed one to at least one member of each team and then explained, “This is what I call an “Auto-Tent”. Now, to activate these little buggers, just toss them onto the ground in the spot you wish to set up your tent! Once you do, BAM- instant tent with a strong, secure walls, completely incest proof and Grimm proof for that matter due to the metal, but have no fear the floor is comfortable enough to sleep on; although I know you all brought sleeping bags” he explained, “Now go ahead and pick a spot to set up and from there we’ll continue to get organized”. As told the five teams set up camp in a sort of pentagon shaped formation, that way when they set up a camp fire everyone is within close distance of the heat it will provide. Although Vale was now back into spring and out of the winter, the night still proved to be chilly and sometimes unforgiving.
