Kate's POV
Blake pulled up to a garage a few that was half an hour drive from the house. It was the best looking garage I could ever imagine because normally whenever I think of a garage I mostly imagine run down rusty buildings. However, this one was well cared for. It even had a high fence enclosing it and a security at the gate! I followed Blake carefully however my attention was on the garage. Even though well kept it still had that manly touch. It was quite nice. I was dragged out of my state of awe when Blake said "Hand me your phone".
"Sure" I said giving it to him
"But why?" I continued.
The shock I felt was radiating off my face. Blake has never once asked for or taken my phone. It was then when I noticed the warm family looking man who also had the look of someone you shouldn't mess with; standing beside Blake. Omg did he owe him money?! And was planning to give up my phone as payment!
"Blake you can't use my phone to pay your gambling debts!" I whispered yell a little loudly.
The man chuckled while the annoyed looking Blake clearly embarrassed as well said " I don't have gambling debts".
"Omg is it because you paid the bills?? I told you that I would have sorted it out!!" I said trying to persuade him to give up on taking my phone!!
"Shut the fuck up and give me your damn phone" he said clearly pissed before yanking my phone away.He then handed both our phones to the man and said "You know what to do then pulled me out of the place".
While on our way out the man yelled "You owe me a thousand dollars". Blake just yelled back "No relationship here!!"."What are you both speaking about?" I asked curiously while we walked towards his car.
"Nothing let's go" he said causally.
"WAIT!! Our phones. You aren't seriously planning to leave them behind right?" I said almost panicking as he started the car.
"We won't be needing them don't worry" he said with a smirk and drove off.
The ride was silent making it seem as though the drive would never end. At first I was calm and collected. At least that was until we passed the sign that read 'Exiting Rose Valley'. Rose Valley was a big town and every since I moved here it's been the only town I know in California. Especially since I grew up in L.A. I wouldn't say that I know L.A because I had been home schooled for years and my parents never invited me to their functions.
"Where are we going Blake?" I asked getting a bit suspicious.
"You'll see in a hour or two" he said nonchalantly.
"Must we go so far? Isn't it just for studying?" I asked but sadly my question was ignored.
I reclined my seat and slept. It was all I could do since my laptop was in the suitcase and I didn't have my phone.
I woke up a few times but went back to sleep because I had no interest in looking out the window.
I trusted Blake. Strangely.
"Kate! Kate! Kate! Wake up" Blake said waking me.
"Yeah" I said sitting up and fixing my chair.
My mouth fell as I looked out the window. We were surrounded by trees on both side. It wasn't really a forest as there were adequate spaces between the trees and it didn't look as jumbled. Everything was green and lush. Opening the doors I felt how windy and cool the environment was. The air was clean and soothing. It was then I noticed the cabin looking house dead ahead. It wasn't small and tacky but it was cute almost expensive looking. Blake opened the trunk and took out the suitcase. Then walked towards the house. I followed him mesmerized by the view and the feel of the place. It was everything to me as I was always cooped up in the house as my life only consisted of school and home. Thankfully now I had the pet store.Blake took out his keychain which I for the first time noticed that apart from his car key had four keys on it. He lifted one and opened the door. Everything was made of wood or glass ( the strong type). After going through the door Blake instructed me to remove my shoes. There was another door way which opened up to a living area which had a doorway and a staircase. The door way led to a kitchen.
Blake started up the stairs and I followed him. There were three rooms in total but we entered the last one at the end of the passage way. It was enormous. Actually it was surprising because from the front this cabin seemed quite small.
"This will be our room. The sheets and linings are in the closet. I'm going to park the car and remove the groceries I got on my way to you." Blake said before walking out.
I didn't know that he had bought groceries. In fact, I didn't even remember about that. I went to the closet and took out the sheets and spread the bed after dusting it a few times. There was a huge glass window next to the bed that showed a lake a few meters from the cabin. Had Blake been my boyfriend this would have felt romantic. But since he wasn't and I'm sure that he doesn't even have the smallest amount of romantic feeling for me. I felt anxious.
Will I be able to study and focus in such an unknown yet beautiful area with the boy who I am starting to have a crush on?
