Going Home.

Chapter 11

It has been a week since the party at the club house. Ryker has been sending me messages, he wants us to meet up but I am just not sure what I want to do. I have been fobbing him off, just saying that I am really busy getting ready for the excursion that I'm running for my kids at the centre on Saturday which seems to be working.

After such a busy morning with finalising all the permission slips, I can finally say that we are finished and in record time apparently.  In previous years there had been issues in getting parental permission but this year it seems like all the parents are super keen to let their kids go on this trip so we have had no issues in getting stuff done.

I've made the trip for a whole day, that way it gives some of the parents a chance to have some time to themselves. A lot of my parents are such amazing people and to give them a chance to 'put their feet up' has been the icing on the cake to with all the hard work in getting this excursion up and going.

The kids are going to have a wonderful time. We are going to the QLD Museum, as they have a new dinosaur exhibit that I know the kids are going to love and then after, we are going to have a late lunch at South Bank Parklands so that the kids can all play. I even convinced Xavier to get the MC to chip in some money towards the bus but it turned out that he went and hired a flash coach with all the modern cons and Uncle Knuckles is going to drive us around for the day.

I lean back in my chair when Evie comes into my office and says "Officer beef cake is here. He's trying to convince Ariel to go to lunch with him. Can you come and help?" She waving me to hurry so I giggle and jump off my chair to head out and see what is going on.

"I'm sorry David but I have to be in court at 2pm." Ariel is saying while I see that David is waving a bag of takeaway sushi in frount of Ariel.

"Oh come on Ariel, we can even sit in the gardens of the courthouse so that you can just head straight on in when you need to go." David replies.

'Come on Ariel," I say, "He brought sushi." I head over to David and go and look into the bag. "And it is totally your favourite." I give David a wink and he gives me a shy smile.

Ariel looks confused and I can see that she is thinking this over in her head. "He said that he is happy to eat in the courthouse gardens and you love that spot near the back water fountain. Just do it girl." I say to her and she gives me a smile. "OK, give me 5 minutes to collect all my things." She dashes off and I turn to David.

"Thank you Mia, I feel like such a fool." he says to me. "Anytime David, but just remember, if you hurt her, we - her family, have the means and ability to make you disappear." I end it with a Dr Evil laugh. He did turn a little pale but then I think with my laugh he realised that I was probably joking. I'm not, but I don't need him on the Clubs tail thinking that we dispose of people.

Ariel comes back into the lobby and waves us good bye as David escorts her out of the building. I realise that this is the first time that I have seen him out of uniform and damm, does he look good in his wrangler jeans and a plain v neck shirt. I hope for her sake that this eventuates into something more.

It's finally 5pm and I've finish off the day, so I locked the main door and make my way to my car. As I am about to jump in my seat, I get a call from Xavier.

"Hay buddy, what's up?" I answer, Xavier hardly ever rings me unless there is an issue.

"Ahh, can you come to the clubhouse. Ariel is here and she is beyond pissed off." Xavier replies.

"What the fuck!" I say. She only left about 4 hours ago and she messaged to say that she was going into court and would chat to me later. What has happened between then and now?
