I'm staring out the window, taking in the scenery that we pass when I start to realise that we are taking a long route to get to the hospital.
"Hay David, why are we heading up Giles Road?" I ask as I look around and wonder why we are on the back roads.
"Oh, the main road is closed off, so I know a back way." David replies.
I continue to look out but when I see that we are turning towards Mt Cotton, I have to ask which hospital are we going too as we seem to be heading further away from our local one.
"David, which hospital are we going too?" I ask but David just keeps looking ahead as he navigates onto the highway. I notice that he is really concentrating on where we are going and I wonder why he is not answering me. I have this feeling that something is not right.
"David, what is going on?" I ask. He looks at me via the rear vision mirror and I can see it in his eyes - fear - he then goes back to concentrating on the road.
Out of instinct, I try jiggling the door handle but it is locked. Dammit for getting into the back with Jae instead of the frount seat.
"David, please, what is going on?" I ask, I try to keep my voice stable but I can feel the cracks as they escape in my words.
David continues to look forward as we pull off the highway and turn down a long road. I take in the signs that we pass and realise that we are heading towards Jacobs Well. I have not gone there for a long time. It used to be a popular fishing town but then industrial companies took over the land and the place lost its coastal feel.
We pull into an industrial area and the car starts to slow down. It is like David is looking for something. I start to bang on the shield separating us, yelling at him to stop and let us out. Jae is starting to stir and lets out a few cries. I try to settle him while I continue to kick the divider to get David's attention.
David must had found the building he was after as he pulls off the road and up to a large gate. He flashes his lights and the gate is rolled back. He drives forward and turns towards a large warehouse.
We drive in and the doors close behind us which makes everything go dark. I had a bad feeling so I quickly grabbed my phone from the nappy bag, flicked it to silent and slipped it into my bra.
"I'm sorry Mia but I had to do it. They promised me that they would not hurt you." David said as he stopped the car.
"Your a bastard David. What about Jae?" I snapped.
"Don't let them know he is Rykers son." Was all David got out before she heard the door beside her open.
"Come!" A man shouted as he reached in to grab my arm. "I have my baby, please just let me slide out."
The man grumbled but allowed me to slide out with Jae safely tucked into my chest. He took the bag from me and went to a table where he dumped them contents out.
"It's just baby gear. Please don't ruin his bottles or he will go ape shit if he misses a feed." I pleaded to the man.
The man just ignored me and picked up the formula container, shaking it next to his ear.
"Baby formula, please don't mess it up." I said. I tried to grab it off of him but another person came up behind me and said "It's ok Grub, it's just baby gear. Put it all back in the bag neatly. This is no way to treat a guest."
I heard the man called 'Grub' grumble as he tried to stack everything back into the bag. He handed it back to me and walked away.
I turned around and faced the new person and I recognised him straight away as the guy from the bus incident.
"Well hello Miss Mia, it is so nice to finally get to meet you after our little mishap the other day." The new man said.
I looked around and saw David pulling back out of the warehouse, he mouthed to me 'Sorry' and I just glared at him.
"I would say the same but since I've been brought to here against my will." I reply.
He smirks at my response. "I can assure you Mia that as long as Xavier plays by my rules you and your little man will be back at home, enjoying your peaceful life."
"I highly doubt that Xavier will give in as easy as you think." I reply.
"Oh you underestimate your power within that club Mia. You are a Princess and you have the love of all those members. They will not even fault on giving us what we want." The man replied.
"Who are you." I asked. I was starting to get irritated with the cockiness of this bloke. He clasped my elbow and led me to an office that was set up like a room.
"Oh please excuse my rudeness, I am Eric, president of the Bandits Motorcycle Club." He said "Now, I have a message to deliver. Please make yourself at home here and hopefully you won't be here too long."
He strode back out of the office and closed the door. I heard the lock click so I decided to look around the room. There is a single bed, a table, an arm chair and a fridge.
I checked and noticed that there were no camera and saw that there was only one guard who was sat away from the window, looking more at his phone then me.
Jae begins to stir which made me realise how he had been so silent during all of this. I prepared his bottle and took a seat in the arm chair, letting him have his feed.
While he was drinking, I sat back and started to think about a way to get us out of here when I felt a vibrate from my chest.
'Shit!' I thought as I remembered that I had stashed my phone. I looked up and noticed that the guy who was supposed to be watching us was still preoccupied on his phone.
I shuffled Jae around so that his bottle was blocking my hand as I slipped it into my bra and slid the phone out and into my lap.
It was Ryker. I pushed the screen and started talking before he could say anything "Oh Jae, what a mess we are trapped in at the moment, that silly man Eric thinks that Xavier will just give him whatever he wants because he has as held hostage."
"Tracking you." Was all Ryker said so I continued "Just wait until we see that naughty police officer David Cheung again." I took a peep towards the guard and noticed that another man was there handing him what looked like a Macdonalds food bag. The guard got up and heard to us.
"Guard coming." Was all I said as I tried to move and slip the phone down the side of the arm chair. I stand up and try to block the edge where I dropped the phone, hoping that the guard will not see or hear it.
"Prez got you some food. There is some water in the fridge. Do you need anything else?" The guard asked.
"No thank you." I replied as I watched him place the Macdonalds bag on the table. He nodded and then left the room, locking the door.
I moved back towards the arm chair and sat back down, talking as if I'm talking to Jae again "Well there must be a Macdonalds nearby as that meal looks fresh."
"Got ya. Keep the phone on. Be there soon." I heard Ryker say. I peeped at the guard again and saw that he was back looking at his phone. Obviously they were not actually worried about me trying to escape or anything.
Jae started to grizzle and I suspect that he may need a nappy change. I hear a gasp from the phone and I remember that Ryker can hear everything "oh buddy, do you need a bum change? Lets go and use the table."
I picked up the bag tried to put it across the arm chair while I dig into it, grabbing what I needed. As I laid Jae on the bed, I didn't hear the door open.
"So the message has been delivered." Eric said as he came into the room.
I turned to look at him and saw him move the nappy bag and take a seat on the arm chair. I held my breath to see if he noticed the phone but all he did was cross his legs and look towards me.
"So now Mia, tell me all about yourself." He said as he looked me up and down.
