August.

I sighed, pushing my glasses further up my face. I had to do a' interview this morning with The Breakfast Club and I know these niggas gon' ask about Jasmine. I had my answer ready too.

"Good morning," Angela Yee said sweetly through the microphone. "We have the sexy August Alsina in the building with us this morning."

"What's up," I greeted the radio listeners and the staff.

"How are you doing today--"

"Nah, Angela, we about to get down to the real. Who is this Jasmine chick," Charlemagne interrupted her and turned toward me.

I smiled then licked my lips before speaking. "That's bae. I mean, we dated during the tour, but we broke up 'cause of some circumstances in the relationship. We still talk and be intimate with one another if that's what you askin'," I answered truthfully.

"Aw damn. You been lyin' to ya fans? To us? I thought we was boys, man," He joked.

I chuckled. "I wasn't lying. I was tryna protect her. Tha Nation been on her ass since them pictures went viral. I feel bad for her," I said, shaking my head.

"Okay. Have you smashed yet? And if so, was it good," DJ Envy asked.

"I haven't been that intimate with her. She not ready for that step," I admitted.

"What? And you been waiting," Charlemagne exclaimed.

"Yeah. I'm waiting," I said, tugging at my chin hairs.

"She's a very beautiful girl, but one problem," He started.

"And what's that," I asked.

"She's nineteen, Aug. She don't know what life has to offer," He said.

"She know what she want in life and she's smart and very intelligent, " I explained simply.

"Alright. Moving along..."

. . .

I sat outside of the bathroom, waiting for Jasmine to answer it. She's been pretty sad lately and I just wanna cheer her up. I had plans on taking her out to Sky Zone to get everything off her mind and show her a good time since this is partially my fault.

"Jasmine-Katherine Jorgenson Kachingwe," I called using her full name. "When you plan on coming out?"

"Never," She said blandly.

"You can't let all of this affect you. You're going to be fine, baby," I attempted to console her.

Hearing her fumble with the door, I rushed up to my feet before she had a chance to open the door. I stared into her flushed red face as she leaned against the doorframe with her arms crossed over her chest. I grabbed her elbow gently then pulled her toward me to kiss her on the lips. She was hesitant at first, but eventually she gave in.

"You're fans are still calling me a groupie and every horrific name in the book,' She said lowly.

"Give it a minute and everything will die down. I--"

"Um, August, can I talk to you for a second," Rose's baby voice interrupted us.

"Uh," I looked at Jasmine for an answer and she nodded. "Yeah. Give me a minute."

She nodded then returned to the other room. I pecked Jasmine on the lips one more time for good luck before approaching the room Rose was in. When I got into the room, she put her phone and immediately began talking.
