A/N: For some strange reason, I'm getting nowhere with this ending so it might be a little sucky and short.
Jasmine.
The ride to the airport was sullen. I continued to stare out of the window to avoid any eye contact with August. I was feeling a little guilty about leaving him but he's leaving me too. He's leaving the American soil for his second part of the Testimony tour in Europe. That tour was the beginning of two important things in my life; my career and my relationship with him. If it weren't for Donovan telling me about the auditions, none of this would be happening.
"August.." I called softly.
He briefly turned from looking at the road. "Yeah." He answered.
"What's my surpirse?" I asked.
"Well, it was supposed to be your parents, but they got snowed in at New York. I'm sorry." He sighed.
"It's fine. I appreciate the thought." I smiled then reached over and grabbed his free hand. "You know I'm going to miss you."
"I know. Ima miss you too." He pouted, sticking his bottom lip out.
"It sucks because we'll be in different time zones and it'll be hard to talk everyday due to our hectic schedules." I sighed.
"See, we could still be in tha' same time zones but you already put the pen to that paper."
I sighed. "August, I'm--"
"Don't wanna hear it. I was trying to hold it because this is what you wanted to do. So don't start complainin'. I tried to keep you here and you decided to go."
"That is not true." I defended. "I'm doing this to better myself and make a brand for my name."
He scoffed queitly. "You couldn't do that with me?"
"You know what? Whatever, yo. Believe what you want."
"That's your problem there. Since you wanna shut up and shut down, don't say nothing else to me until you gotta get on that flight."
"August--"
"Ah. Don't wanna hear."
"That's your damn problem!" I shouted. "You never let me finish."
"And vice versa."
"Are you serious? Grow up." I growled.
"Man, say, Ian even tryna argue with you for our last time together."
"I'm not either but you turned it into one."
"Does it really matter?"
I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest in defeat. "I guess you're right." I mumbled.
"Admit I'm right. Come on. You can do it. " He smiled then nudged my shoulder lightly.
"You're right, August, gosh." I chuckled, shaking my head.
"That's how I like it."
I rolled my eyes playfully as August pulled into the airport. I let out a loud sigh.
"Well, since you're leaving in a few minutes or hours...I want you to know that I'm sorry for everything that I've put you through and all of the hurt/pain you had to endure. Yeah, I am sad to see you go but I'm proud of you. I really am." He sighed then put the car in park.
I looked at him through the dam of tears swelled up in my eyes. I launched toward him, wrapping my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. He embraced me in a tighter hug, squeezing me nearly to death but I didn't care at the moment. This would be the last time we're able to hold each other for a while. He released me from his arms as I leaned back, only a few inches from his lovely face. He placed his finger beneath my chin and pulled my face to his. My eyes scanned from his eyes to his lips before feeling our lips touch each other. I kind've regret signing that contract but what's done is done. I can't take it back. Hopefully everything will be fine and smooth sailing...
The walk inside of the building was gloomy. Neither one of us spoke. We weren't mad. We just were taking in each others presence in silence and trying not to acknowledge the fact that we'll be separated for months. I bit my bottom to withhold myself from crying again.
"Flight 278 is ready to board."
August and I looked at each other with saddened expressions. I hugged him one last time and we said our goodbyes before I had to head to my flight. This moment was bittersweet.
