Kaosmonstre – Common name for a group of beasts in Norse mythology, that teamed up with the giants and fought against the gods. The most know are the Midgard serpent, the Fenrir wolf and the Hellhound.

Fjor sat seated thoughtfully near the table breaking in half during the famous meal with the Seier children.

His entire family was still under the effects of this evening. A heavy silence reigned in Jutulheim. And for the first time in centuries Fjor felt lost, torn.

He, a creature of the old days, a superior being, found himself experiencing futile human feelings.

At first it was just a game, a distraction. He was known to be the center of Edda High School. No single-minded human resisted him. Neither to him nor to Saxa, by the way. And then Helja Seier had arrived. Impressing the new girl had seemed distracting. He clearly hadn't thought he could suddenly get lost in his own game. After all that had never happened to him.

He wasn't like these humans. He had absolutely nothing to do with them. As Vidar liked to remind, humans were once at their mercy. They worshiped them, prayed for them.

So it seemed impossible for Fjor to imagine falling so low. Worse still she seemed to just hate him. And yet he couldn't help worrying about her. Especially after this famous dinner.

He knew his family enough to know that there was going to be retaliation. His kind was not really known for empathy and pity. They were Giants. Centuries old beings. How could he be interested in a human whom he had just met? Again Helja was Magne's sister. What's more, his twin sister. Chances were she would probably be like him. She couldn't be more than just a human. He couldn't be interested in a simple human. She must have had something special.

Why she had captured his attention? Better yet, why did he keep feeling this deep anguish along his chest?

Suddenly Vidar walked over to the rest of the family, leaving Fjor to turn his head at once to hear Ran's deep voice."Vidar, no!"

"Yes. War council."

He set down the iconic battle ax leaving Fjor to swallow with a whole new bad feeling. It was exactly what he feared.

He immediately rose from his chair with gravity. "Shouldn't there be a war first?"

"We agree that there hasn't been one like him for a thousand years." Vidar gravely recalled."And his sister, Helja, is necessarily like him."

"You don't even know what they are yet." Ran objected in hopes of calming the bellicose spirit of her husband.

"No, but we all know he can do things humans can't do. Therefore, he's from the Old World. And if it turns out that the girl has the same abilities then it's necessary to discuss it."

"You think they're some of them?" Asked immediately Saxa, nervous.

"That's impossible. They all died back then."
