"There is no exquisite beauty... without some strangeness in the proportion."
"Helja, we're here."
The blonde frowned as she closed her book before giving her giant brother a look at the feel of his hand on her shoulder. She shrugged her shoulder to push the touch away in annoyance before finally turning to her personal second hell.
Edda High School.
She gave a critical look at the red brick high school before turning to Magne and Laurits to test their reaction. Laurits had a similar expression to her as he readjusted the strap of his bag over his shoulder. Conversely, Magne simply seemed out of touch with reality as he stared at a point in the distance. At the familiar sight, Helja walked over to her brother, tucking her book under her arm before putting her hand on his shoulder to get his attention."Hey, it's going to be okay. You're with Laurits. He will do the introductions for you."
"Yeah so don't be too weird, mhm?"The brown suggested immediately letting Helja give him a scathing look.
"Why? It's not like you have a certain reputation to maintain." She scoffed."You're probably going to be as popular as us."
"Yeah? And how would you know that?"He snorted back."You'd have to take your eyes off your book already for that."
Helja narrowed her eyes on her insolent little brother with the intention of retorting only it was not long in being suddenly challenged by the exit of an adult, probably the CPE of the school.
"Magne, Laurits and Helja Seier I presume? Welcome to Edda High School. I am Enrik Bjorn."
The trio of teenagers muttered an unconvincing round of greetings before absently following the paunchy old man as he offered to accompany them to their class respectively. It turns out that Magne should have been in the same class as her. Unfortunately, his dyslexia had caused him to fall behind. As for Laurits, he was the smartest kid in the family. It was therefore without much astonishment that he had passed a class, thus finding himself in the same rank as Magne.
Although she must have been in pain on her own, Helja was somewhat relieved by this arrangement. At least she worried a little less about her brothers when they were together.
"This is your stop boys."Suddenly announced the man whose name Helja had already forgotten."I will take your sister to her classroom. Welcome back to Edda."
Helja winced at the thought of being alone with the old man before glancing over at her brothers.
Laurits hurriedly raised his hand against his forehead to give her a military salute as Magne forced a small, uncertain smile on his lips in an attempt to reassure her. The blonde shook her head at her brothers' usual postures before letting a low sigh under her breath as she turned to the old man already halfway down the hall.
She could feel Magne's gaze on her back all the way to the next hallway.
"So? Ready for the big day?"The old man asked, straightening his glasses drooping over the bridge of his nose before hastily interrupting her in excitement."You'll see, you'll love Edda. It's a quiet little town. The kids here are not mean. I trust them to make you feel welcome."
Helja raised her eyebrows with a slight demeanor as she stared at the old man's imposing back as she continued to endure his little tirade on the perfect little town of Edda. To hear him speak, it was a real haven of peace. Helja wanted to stick a fork in her eyes just at the thought.
She took advantage of his rotating back to roll her eyes before tightening her arms around her book leaning against her chest as she could suddenly feel the tension building up along her shoulders.
