1 year.

1 year old and she could finally leave this hell-bent place.

She hadn't even been here for two days but she couldn't stand her comrades anymore. She wanted only one thing : to come home and never to resurface again. She hated this place. Other than the beautiful scenery and the savings they could make with their mother's new job, Helja saw absolutely no attraction in this city. Worse yet, it seemed that the inconvenience kept increasing in her eyes. The major negative point; Pollution. It wouldn't surprise her if she found out in the next few weeks that she had contracted some type of lung disease.

Seriously, what was the matter with all that smoke ?

She was willing to bet that she could see the chemical fumes from the factory where her mother worked was also in the schoolyard. Not to mention that the weather here in Edda was unusually mild for a town in Norway. She had certainly been used to a lot colder. Even though part of her was relieved, she knew deep down that this wasn't normal. And that was certainly not a cause of global warming. Or at least she didn't think so.

Helja figured she could ask Isolde for more information on the matter.

Readjusting the strap of her pack on her back, Helja mingled with her peers with a whole new sense of relief. She walked quickly towards the exit, reaching for the pockets of her parka to take her headphones. She plugged them into her phone before launching her current playlist.

However, it wasn't long before she paused once she was outside at the sight of her older brother again standing next to the person she had just thought of. It was obvious he had taken an interest in her. Whether friendly or more, Helja didn't really care. She was just happy with the effort he was making to come out of his shell.

A grimace adorned her lips as she realized how hypocritical her thoughts were. She expected her brother to fit in when she did the opposite. She was definitely not in the best position to judge her brother's actions. Having said that, she certainly wasn't going to have to force herself to try harder. Hence the reason she resumed her walk clearly deciding to get as far away from the people around her as possible.

She pulled her hood over her head in an attempt to barricade herself from the rain beating down on the whole town. She turned up her music before raising her hands above her forehead as she got ready to run in the rain for the nearest bus stop.

Not only were they broke, but she also had to take the bus home. Third negative point for Edda.

Only she had barely stepped off the sidewalk when a huge yellow umbrella suddenly blocked her view. She gasped at the sudden appearance before cringing as she felt a hand grab her wrist. She tried to free herself but her interlocutor seemed stronger. She barely had time to fully grasp the situation when she suddenly found herself holding the umbrella while her interlocutor, a boy, already braved the rain while running.

She stood still for a moment, stunned as she followed the back from the strangely mysterious boy before returning her eyes to the umbrella now between her fingers. She glanced again between the umbrella and the boy already walking through the high school gate. He looked rather quick and surprisingly tall.

But strangest of all, Helja had absolutely no idea why he had given her an umbrella. She hadn't spoken to anyone since lunch.
