I didn't dare mention Jaromir in the conversation between Steve and I which had more or less come to an end the second we'd managed to come up with a deal that pleased both sides.Steve got up from his chair, smiled at me and pushed me out of the room.
There were a bunch of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents waiting for us. None of them was of any significance, I didn't remember their faces which I signalled to Cap by shaking my head a tiny bit when he looked at me. He probably was disappointed but didn't let it show.
"We'll take over here" , stated one of the agents, a woman with long black hair, a stern look on her face and dark skin. She obviously was a no-nonsense sort of person and thought that she was in charge. Cap didn't think so though.
"Thank you but I don't mind bringing her to her room" , he offered, smiling brightly. I held back a grin.
Cap never did something just because, I was sure that there was a plan behind his offer to get me to my room. He wanted to know where I was located, most likely. I was pretty sure that he didn't just want to spend some more time with me. There was a more rational reason for his request. Maybe just so he didn't have to rely on others next time he came here to take me for a walk on the premises. But maybe it was so he could break me out of my cell when Fury had told him to get lost instead of allowing him to take me anywhere. I couldn't know for sure and I really didn't care anyway.
If Steve broke me out of this cell though I would most certainly get to take Jaromir. That would make it easier.
I like easy.
I'm sure you do, Jaromir, I'm sure you do.
I like being taken along.
Yeah, I know.
"It's dangerous for you to take her there. She has her tiger downstairs and you don't know your way there. It really isn't a problem if you let us take her" , said the woman and her words indicated that, while it really wasn't a problem for her if she brought me back to my cell it indeed was a problem for her if Steve brought me.
I also felt like a valuable trade item she wasn't willing to auction off yet. Great.
At least we're valuable.
Yeah, thanks J.
J?
I'll use it as your nickname if that's alright.
Yeah, it's fine.
"I dare say that I am well capable of defending myself. I don't know if you have noticed yet but I have been injected with super soldier serum back when your parents weren't even born" , chuckled Steve. He made it sound like a joke but with a sharp edge to it. One that told the woman that he would bring me to my damn room.
This was a competition and I was the price.
The woman glared at him with a rage that was impressive. If she had been staring at me I would probably have backed off and given her whatever she wanted.
"Okay, listen, Fury doesn't want you to bring her anywhere. He didn't even want you to meet up with her in the first place and he most certainly doesn't want you to be attacked by her damn tiger and torn to pieces for you might be the super soldier or whatever but a tiger is a tiger and it has some damn sharp teeth and claws to fight for itself. And it really doesn't care if you are some sort of super soldier or just the neighbourhood postman"
