So things took a quick turn for the better. After proclaiming that Jaromir and I were now working for S.H.I.E.L.D. at the moment (which, technically, I had been told before but hadn't been the case yet. Unless one counted blood tests as active work. Unpaid work in any case). This meant that we would be trained as agents now. We were also told that we would get to leave our prison cell behind and move into a room higher up.

"We are not a hotel though! People don't normally live here. They come here for work or they stay in a cell here. We don't have nice hotel rooms for you to dwell in. Better get used to that idea" , warned Fury.

Neither me nor Jaromir cared. At all. Everything was better than our underground cell. Not that said cell hadn't been nicely furnished and all... But still.

"But conditions do apply" , said Fury. And, let's be honest, no one had expected anything else. It was Fury we were talking about and I was still myself and Jaromir was still a tiger.

"And that would be?" , I inquired because that was what Fury wanted me to do, just to make clear that it was still him who was in charge.

"You'll not roam completely free in the compound. You will, of course, get more freedom but there will be limits to it. You can't just go wherever you want to. The two of you will be instructed later on where it's okay for you to go and where you have to stay away from.

"There's more though. I still consider you highly dangerous and unless I know where you are at all times I can not have you walk free. I have responsibility. So I will have to make the two of you trackable. Therefore I will have devices planted on you that will make it possible for me to pin point your location at any time. Listen in on what you are saying and be able to stop you whenever needed" , Fury explained.

I just stared at him in disbelief. There were things that were absolutely okay and there were things that weren't and what Fury had just proposed was something that wasn't okay.

I didn't want him to know where I was at all times. This was against every privacy law I had ever heard of.

Jaromir wasn't half as shocked as me.

That's no different from how it used to be, he told me.

"Excuse me?" , I asked him out loud, too shocked to go for our mental connection.

The people we ... I used to work for. They were also able to track us at any given time.

"The communication thing the two of you have going on is highly suspicious and damn motherfucking creepy" , Fury interrupted.

I glared at him and shushed him. Jaromir was telling me something important and I really wanted to hear it.

How?, I asked Jaromir, now resorting to our mental connection again.

Well, they implanted some sort of device inside of me. And you too, by the way.

I gulped. Not good. Very not good.

"Don't you fucking shush me, lady!" , snapped Fury, his voice low and threatening.

"Okay, old man, listen here" , I snapped back, too impatient to stay nice, "Jaromir is telling me something important. Let me work that out real quick and I'll be all yours again in a heartbeat, alright? Great. The thing he's telling me might actually be of importance to you, you know."
