Realise how insignificant you are in contrast to this gigantic world around you.

Somehow Stark and I ended up at the counter together, continuing my already started cake and talking. He still was weary of Jaromir who had decided that sitting next to the fridge like a sphinx made of sand and stone was a great idea. At least he wasn't stealing eggs.
Stark had offered him one though, I guess it was a peace offering, and Jaromir had taken it (after an inappropriately long time of sniffing the thing) and after some crunching, licking and drooling he resumed his sphinx position. He ate the egg shell too, by the way, in case you were curious. He didn't clean the floor afterwards though.
"So ... I'm going to die?" , he asked while adding the innards of the remaining eggs to the bowl I had handed him.
"Well, yeah, of course. We all die eventually. Death is inevitable, even for the great Iron man" , I replied while utilising the sieve I had finally found.
"That's not what I meant, tiger-lady
Oops"
He dropped an egg. Jaromir took care of it. Selfless creature.
This man was a freaking scientist and he had screwed and unscrewed tiny screws, built fragile mechanism and discovered a new element (had he yet though? I wasn't sure) but here he was, bad at the fine art of baking.
"You'll die in battle, saving the world. Willingly sacrificing yourself" , I told him, weighing the powdered sugar.
"I suspected that. And the others die anyway?
How much butter?"
"Technically not. Nat will be long dead then and Cap doesn't die but makes an out-of-character decision everyone hates.
250 grams"
Stark stopped working for a moment and stared at me.
"Natasha is going to die?"
"Yeah, just like you, she's mortal. Very much so. She is going to give her life in exchange for the soul stone. I mean, Clint is going to try to stop her and sacrifice himself instead of her but ... she's one determined woman"
Stark smiled and that was the first time I realised how much Stark actually cared about his team. They were his teammates but he was the leader here and he had the responsibility.
"Yes, she is. Even rivals me"
I hummed in agreement. Jaromir eyed the butter hopefully.
"So, what's the soul stone?
How much butter again?"
"It's one of the six infinity stones Thanos is after. He wants to assemble them to attach them to what will be called the infinity gauntlet and to wipe out half of the population.
250 grams"
"He doesn't succeed with that though, right?"
Stark finally took the scales from me and dumped some soft butter into his egg filled bowl.
I kept quiet, remembering all the deaths. I saw Bucky crumble to dust and Groot uttering his last 'I am Groot' and then Vision die and Wanda dissolve and embrace the sweet promise of an end to her suffering. I saw Strange tell Stark that there was no other way, Quill and nearly all his crew crumble to ashes. And I saw Peter laying in front of Iron man, his eyes watery, croaking his sad little 'Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good' and then his 'I don't wanna go' and my heart shattered into a thousand little pieces.
