Come to the conclusion that being insignificant means being free.

I stared at Stark in disbelieve.

"I was what?!" , I inquired.

I was confused. How could I have been Jaromir? Or Amy, since I hadn't been me at that point. At least not here. For the love of god, yes, Jaromir and I were linked. Closely. And while our thoughts might flow into each other's at times we were still individuals.

And what use would it be if I could take over his body?!

Oh, dear, thought Jaromir.

"Either you're a great actress or you really didn't know. But no matter which case, why are you surprised? What use would a human person be if they could communicate with a tiger?" , he chuckled.

"I ... well ... How ... That ... umöglich ..." , I stuttered. There were no words left for me to use, even though I had all the words of two languages at my disposal. Two and a half if you counted my miserable French skills.

I felt super strange. This situation felt unreal, I felt like an oberserver, hovering somewhere up against the ceiling, not really part of this bizarre conversation.

Just because this couldn't be happening.

I mean, I had experienced and seen a lot of things in this world that shouldn't exist. Not really, physically. Not like this.
But this? Right now? Right here? Wrong. It felt all wrong.

My thoughts were utter chaos. Jaromir's weren't but they felt too far away to grasp them. It was as if a tornado was raging inside of my head, twirling thoughts around, making it dangerous to reach for them. Cutting Jaromir off. And myself, too, in a way.

Impossible. Utterly impossible, I thought again and again.

He's telling the truth, you know, was the first clear thought I had and it wasn't my thought, and you've actually been told that we can become one being. It nearly happened when we first met.

"What? Why? The truth?" , I exlaimed, staring at my striped friend who was looking at me with so much pity that I wanted to hit him in the face.

Pity was not what I needed right now. I needed a wake-up call. Desperately.

I couldn't remember being told about the morphing part. Everything that had happened here had been new and amazing, there had been more important things on my mind.

I could not remember much of the first physical meeting between Jaromir and I. This memory was blurry, covered by layers of excruciating pain I really didn't want to recall.

I ... can't ...

And I thought you guys archieved all the things you saw. But it's okay that you don't remember, really. It's because we were both weak and because you tried to pull away soon after our first meeting, explained Jaromir.

Stark was bright enough not to interrupt the conversation between me and J.

This connection is so unbelievably strange, I can't anymore!, I hissed internally.

For the first time in quite a long period of time I wanted to pull away from Jaromir again. I wanted to cut our connection and leave it cut, never touched again.
