I slam the door shut on the way inside my apartment. After Freddie dropped me off, he sped into the night; not saying a word. As I marched into my room, I could hear Jade open hers, but before she could ask me anything, I had slammed my door shut and locked it.

Although I had a good time with Freddie, I couldn't understand his persistent demeanor, and the questions. I hadn't talked to anyone about my past and the fact that he kept bringing it up was really traumatic for me. I still cope with the majority of things I'd experienced, and at this moment in my life, I wasn't ready. Freddie truly was a gentleman, however, I couldn't bring it to myself to make excuses for how he ended the evening. I also couldn't bring it in myself to hate him for it either. This man, who I've become infatuated with since day one, is extremely complex.

Should I even bother responding if he decides to talk to me?

I let out a soft sob and run a hand through my hair. I didn't know what to think, what to feel or anything. Right now, the only thing I wanted to focus on was getting a hold of my degree and finishing school -- not think about Freddie and his good looks and his controlling attributes.

I strip myself down and get into a loose baggy t-shirt and leave my panties on. Plopping myself down in my bed, I turn out my light and close my eyes; dreaming of iridescent eyes and luscious lips dominating me with a blue cardigan binding me from my reach...

"How was your date with the infamous Freddie Highmore?" Jade asks me the next morning as I step into the kitchen. She grins as she occasionally eyes her ring Eric gave her.

I rub the sleep out of my eyes as I had just woken up; still trying to figure out if the world is round or square. I clearly know this, but I sort of dislike questions first thing in the morning.

I yawn, then take a sip of my jasmine tea that Jade had prepared for me. "It went okay until the end."

She places the plate of food in front of me as she sits across from me. "What happened, bub?"

"He wants to pursue me, but only on his terms." I reply. "When I suggested a more casual way of doing things, he basically took me home and didn't talk to me the whole way here."

Jade shakes her head. "I say screw him." she states. "He's not worth it if he can't compromise. I don't think anyone has ever told that man 'no'."

I sigh in reply. If only it were that simple.

I took a bite of my scrambled eggs and Jade didn't mention Freddie after that.
