"...Hi, this is Amanda, Mr. Highmore's assistant. I was just wanting to inform you that he will arriving at your residence shortly." I anxiously tap my fingers on the desk I'm sitting in front of as I wait for this woman to respond. "Okay, bye."And just like that, I'm done for my first hour of work. A few moments later, Freddie strides in with his blazer off and is only in his dress shirt and pants. His sleeves are rolled up just below the elbow and his hair is mussed and is no longer nearly combed like it was an hour ago.
Damn, he is beautiful...
"Did you call her?" He asks as he picks up a stack of papers.
"Yes, I did." I reply, trying my absolute hardest not to melt at the sight of him. "She said she can't wait to see you."
He chuckles as he is looking down at the papers. And to that I quirk my eyebrow in curiosity. "What's so funny, Mr. Highmore?"
"She can't wait to see me because she can't wait to please me." He replies.
"Are you two romantically involved?" I press, finding his previous comment to be tasteless. I knew I shouldn't have asked it, due to its lack of professionalism, but I just wanted to know more about him.
"Ms. Helgard," Freddie begins, "I don't pay you to ask me personal questions." He starts to walk back into his office, papers in hand. "I pay you to take calls. Now get to work!"
With that, he slams his office door, leaving me with a list of phone numbers, names, and reasons for the calls.

It's 10:19 p.m, and I am still working for Freddie. He's stepped out of his office hours prior, not telling me where he'd be. He simply strode past me, keys in hand and sunglasses on, and left.
I was on the last phone call when the entrance to Freddie's office opened; a cold, cool breeze greeting my skin with its crisp hold. Standing at the door was Freddie. His hair was in all different directions, and as he walked in, I noticed his jaw was stern. He was furious; but why?
"Can I ask you something, Ms. Helgard?" Freddie asks, placing his hands on the receptionist desk.
I nod, marking off the last person on the list Freddie gave me using a Sharpie. "Yes, sir." I reply, not looking up. "Go ahead." I put the marker down and proceed to give him my full attention.
"Why did ye ask me if I was romantically involved with Aubrey?" He asks me. His jaw is still stern and his knuckles are white.
I shrug. "You were indirectly informing me of your sex life, sir. I couldn't help but be a female and question whether you two were a thing."
He nods. "Well, Ms. Helgard," he states curtly. "to answer your question, we just broke up." He then pushes his body back and speed-walks his way to his office.
Before I can say anything, the door slammed shut.
