-- C H A P T E R
F O R T Y - S E V E N --When I woke up a few hours later, I see Jade walking into my room in her tank top and pajama bottoms. Her hair is in a messy ponytail and, in her hand, was a plate of bacon and eggs.
"You're finally up!" She says. I sit up from laying in bed, run a hand through my hair, and enjoy the savory scent of fresh bacon. "I made you breakfast." Jade places the plate gently in my lap.
"I can tell," I reply. My voice sounding hoarse from just waking up. "where's Freddie?" I ask, popping a bit of egg into my mouth.
"He went to go do something," Jade replied. "I believe he said he had some sort of meeting to tend to." She paused, then continued. "He said he'll be back later."
I nod. "Okay."
There was an awkward silence in the air, until Jade finally spoke.
"Listen," she began, a sigh escaping her lips. "I wanted to apologize for how I acted yesterday. I don't want to see you get hurt, but I also have to understand that if Freddie knows what he is doing, then I have nothing to worry about. It wasn't right with how I responded to your relationship, and for that, I'm sorry."
"I forgive you," I reply. "I think if Eric was a Dominant, I'd be concerned, too." I take a piece of bacon in my hand and take a bite. "How are things going between you two?"
"We're doing fine," Jade replied. "we are working on communicating better."
"Well that's good," I place the plate on my nightstand once I'm done. "thanks for breakfast, by the way."
"No problem." We engulf each other in a hug. "Now, can we just talk about how hot Freddie looks in pajama pants and messy hair?"
"I know right?"
We giggle and continue to gush about Freddie's looks for a few minutes, and then we decide to get up and go to the living room; sitting on the couch and begin giving ourselves a pedicure. Even though Jade can be a bit of an ass, and she may not always think things through, she was still my best friend. And for that, I was grateful to have her in my life.
After my nails dried, I decided to go and make my bed. When I started to take the comforter and sheets off the mattress, Freddie's scent lingered on the sheets; causing me to grow a longing for him to be near me. It felt nice to have Freddie next to me, even if it was for a night. The rhythm of his heartbeat held me in a steady slumber, his arm draped around my body made me feel a sense of security; a comfort to which I could not replace.
I decide to continue on with my task at hand. I take the comforter and sheets off, then begin to make my bed neat and presentable. As I was tossing the pillows onto the bed, against the headboard, I hear my phone vibrating on my nightstand. I take a hold of it and look to see it was a text from Freddie. The text read:
Hello, princess!
I'm sure you're wondering why I had left. Don't worry, it was not because I felt uncomfortable. I had to do something the minute I woke up. I do apologize for not telling you sooner.I want you to know that I loved sleeping beside you. I hope I can continue to get used to it. Your scent is intoxicating, my princess. I'll see you soon.
I blush at his texts, and send him a blushing emoji in response to the last one. I do understand that Freddie was a businessman, doing business-like things. His schedule would always be busy, but what's romantic is that he somehow, some way, makes time to see me.
I couldn't wait to see him.

Typing on my laptop, I began to work on an assignment for class. The subject of the essay was simple: What is a dream you'd like to accomplish. I simply put in that I'd always wanted to become a New York Times Bestselling author. In my Google Docs, I've accumulated over a thousand novels to completion. I've never shown them to anybody, including Jade. Jade knew I liked to read, but she never knew I enjoyed writing.
And somehow, the thought crossed my mind that I should tell her, maybe even Freddie. However, I was afraid of what they would think. The majority of these novels were romance, and although I have had no experience in exotic writing, I think some love scenes sufficed to whoever would read them. If they ever were published in print.
I was almost done with my essay, when I got another text from Freddie. Then I got a text from Eric, which was odd because he never texted me unless it was to get advice about what to do about his relationship with Jade.
I clicked on Freddie's text first.
I'm on my way to your apartment. I can't wait to see your beautiful face.
I blush at his text, then reply to it.
I can't wait to see you either, Daddy. I'm still getting used to calling you that, lol.
Then I receive a reply to my text from Freddie. My heart jolted in surprise with what he said next.
You won't have trouble calling me Daddy once I have you naked and writhing between the sheets, my dear. ;)
I place my hand over my mouth at his cheekiness. The thought of being completely exposed to Freddie made me feel a bit awkward, but nonetheless, I felt enticed. If we waited until our wedding night, then we could...
Why was I thinking about marriage, already? I have only known Freddie for some time, but I wasn't too sure if he was open to marriage. Freddie had told me once that he didn't date, and that he only negotiated. However, wasn't what Freddie and I were doing technically a relationship?
I decide to get my mind off of things and go to Eric's text.
I need help surprising Jade with the wedding.
