28. First Date?

A few days passed since we came back from the future. A few uneventful days. Dad had gotten a few memories from his future self and he was a little more overprotective of me when I came back, but he had another trip a few days after. He left with tears in his eyes but I waved him off with an eye roll and a smile.

Luckily, Verde heeded my request and Yuujin showed no signs of having his future memories. He was still my loving little brother when I came back home.

A few days after dad left, I got a package in the mail. It was a long, thin box with an unknown sender. I took it inside and went into my room, dropping my school bag on the floor and heading straight to my desk. I gasped when I opened it. It was a sword.

I pulled the navy colored cloth covering the weapon out of the box and loosened the rope keeping it closed, pulling the beauty out. I gaped. It was a nagamaki*. I stood up and walked to the middle of the room, unsheathing it, and almost shuddering at the sound it made sliding out of its scabbard. I gripped the black katana-like hilt with both of my hands; right over left and a few inches apart. The red lining on the hilt kept my hands from sliding and when I swung it, the sound of the three foot blade slicing the air almost made me shudder as well.

I sheathed the weapon, letting out a breath after. That thing would be dangerous if used carelessly... who sent it?

A few days later, a normal day of school passed and I was walking out of the school building. There were no committee duties today, and I was about to text Yuujin's babysitter Rika that she didn't need to come over.

As I was walking out of campus, someone grbbed my hand and dragged me in the opposite direction. I look up and see Kyoya.

"Did you have to scare me like that?" I ask, squeezing his hand. "You're lucky that Yuu has a babysitter tonight or I wouldn't be going anywhere."

Kyoya looked down at me, a small smile on his lips. It made me smile back and quicken my pave to keep up with him. Luckily the skies were clear and the sun was shining. I noticed that we were nearing the town mall.

"The mall?" I wonder. He didn't reply.

We went inside and he led me to McDonald's. He left me at a table and stood in line. I fiddled with my phone and texted the babysitter.

To Rika:
I'll be staying out a little longer than I expected today; my boyfriend dragged me out.

From Rika:
Ahh, young love. It's okay? Yuu is taking a nap right now, it's giving me time to relax.
Have fun on your date!

I feel my face go warm as I text her back.

To Rika:
It's not a date... I think.

Kyoya came back with two sets of Mega Tamago burger sets. He placed the tray on the table and sat across from me.

"Is this a date?" I ask, taking the burger.

He paused and turned his head to the side so I couldn't see his eyes. I look at the tips of his ears and notice that they're slightly red.

"Oh, god, this is a date," I laugh. "Our first date, huh?"

He takes his burger and bites into it, not looking at me. I giggle and finish my meal.

After McDonald's, he takes me to the aquarium. I couldn't help but grin at how cutely cliche he was being. We walk in and I see that it wasn't as busy as it normally would be.

"Did you chose a specific day where there wouldn't be any crowds as well?" I ask, amused when he didn't reply. "You're never gonna get used to crowds, are you?"

He grunted and I laugh as we slowly walk through the aquarium. I point at the fish as we walk and state some facts that I learned as Sarah and as Satsu. He didn't reply much but I saw him nod and he would squeeze my hand once in a while. There weren't any special exhibits today, but I honestly enjoyed just strolling through the building and looking at everything. We made our way completely around the aquarium and walked out.

"That was more fun than I originally through it was going to be." I smile.

The time was five forty-seven and the sun was low in the air, about to set. We stood in front of the mall for a few minutes. I could tell that Kyoya was wondering what to do next so I let him do that, looking at our surroundings. I look at him when he tugged my hand.

"Where to next?"

"School."

"What?"

It was true; he was leading me back to school. I sigh as we walk back onto campus. I wonder what he wanted to do.

I let out a small 'ooh' when he opened the rooftop door and gasp when I see the sunset right in front of us. He walked to the middle of the roof and sat down. I sat next to him and watched the sunset. I leaned my head on his shoulder and smiled when I felt his arm go around my waist.

I could feel myself doze off and straightened up, slapping my cheeks a little. I look at Kyoya and smile when I see his eyes closed. I scoot closer to him and wrap my arms around his shoulders, hugging him. I felt his arms go around my waist and giggle.

"Love you." I hear him mumble and I giggle more, my face going warm.

I lean down, look him in the eyes and grin. "Love you, too."

He leans forward and kisses my forehead, moving down. He kissed my eyelids, then my cheeks, my nose. I feel my breath hitch when he moved to the corner of my mouth. He pulled back and I could see the question in his eyes. My face was burning but I nod, looking down. I let out a breath of air through my nose as our lips connected. My stomach was turning, my eyes screwed shut.

He placed a hand on my jaw, deepening the kiss. I couldn't help but let out a whimper and placed my hands on his chest, clutching his gakuran.

I was the first to pull back, breathing hard. I look up at Kyoya and laugh, giving him a small peck on the lips.

"Wanna go home now?" I ask, standing up and holding my hand out to him.

He smiled, taking it and standing up.

*nagamaki: a sword with a blade that can be two feet or longer. The handle is about the same length as the blade.

Satsuki's nagamaki has a red wrapping on her sword hilt compared to the picture below. But other than that, it is the same. She has a dark blue cloth to cover the sword and carry it in public, as you see in anime lol.

I'm sorry that this chapter was so short too ;-; I wanted to make it a filler chapter, but I wasn't expecting it to be so short. I wanted to update the side-story book as well, so that will be up probably next week.

I've never had a first kiss before, so I have no idea how it actually feels. I kind of went off my imagination. Actually, I've never been in an actual, official relationship. Everything from before I turned 16 I don't count as a relationship LOL. They were all childish crushes. But yeah, I can't write anything concerning relationships well because of my lack of experience.

In lieu of the current worldwide situation, please stay safe! Please wash your hands, cover your mouth when you cough (use the inside of your elbow!), six feet apart at all times if you go out! Don't go outside unless you absolutely need to!
