It was only the creak of dawn when Reyna left the camp. She was heading towards Darius's cave to train for the first time.

She would be lying if she said that the woods in this time of day didn't send chills down her spine. The way the morning fog covered the path and the cool wind blew in her direction made an uneasy feeling form in her stomach.

But she wouldn't let her ridiculous fear deter her from her goal. She had always wanted to learn how to use a sword, and she now had an offer she couldn't resist so she pushed her doubts aside.

Nearing the cave she spotted Darius standing next to the opening with two swords in his hands. He resembled a statue with the way he stood there, waiting. His eyes had been on her from the moment she came into view but he made no move to greet her. So Reyna sent him a small smile as she reached him, though he didn't return the gesture.

"Here." He handed her one of the swords and she took it from him.

Reyna held it up with one of her hands and Darius gave her a look, "I told you yesterday to hold it with two until you get good enough."

"Fine." Reyna huffed as she put her other hand on the handle.

"Put your left foot ahead of your right." Darius instructed her and she nodded as she got into the stance.

He did the same and got into a fighting stance. Only a second passed before he brought his sword towards her. Not quite ready for it, Reyna stepped back and avoided it before she swung at him.

Their blades clashed a few times and Reyna found it hard to block his sword. Her arms ached from the all the effort she put in deflecting his attacks and she had a feeling he wasn't even giving his all into the fight.

Thankfully, Darius didn't make many moves, opting to let her be the one to strike first. And Reyna was glad, but the more advances she made against him the more she realized how hard it was to actually fend him off.

Even with the slightest effort he was able to successfully ward off her off, and as minutes passed Reyna just grew more frustrated.

Finally, she lunged with her sword at him, putting all her strength into the strike but it wasn't thought through. He easily pushed her sword out of the way with his. Then he used the opening and moved in, grabbing a hold of the hand she held her weapon in and putting his sword to her throat.
