"You believe that to defeat an enemy that will stop at nothing, you must stop at nothing. How is that different from 'blood must have blood'?"

The next morning Reyna walked around the rig by herself, she noticed Luna talking to the children as they made fishnets.

She stood in a distance and watched them until the children left and Luna was alone. She approached Luna slowly and stood by her side.

"It was a mistake to come here." Luna broke the silence.

"We've already made many mistakes, this is just another one to add to the list." Reyna huffed in annoyance.

"That girl Clarke is quite persistent, I'll give her that." Luna told her, "You've only been here for one day and she's constantly been trying to convince me to take the Flame."

"That's Clarke." Reyna sighed, "She'll do anything for her people. It doesn't matter who gets hurt, who dies, if she has even the slightest chances in saving them, she'll take them."

"I left because of people like her, people who would stop at nothing to beat the enemy." Luna said calmly, "That's not the way."

"Maybe not where you live." Reyna shrugged carelessly, "But back there, all we know is war and death." She turned to face Luna, "For awhile I was convinced that maybe fighting isn't all we know, but I was wrong."

"Why have you come here, Reyna?" Luna turned to her with her eyebrows drawn together.

"Lexa was special." It hurt Reyna so much, it her her so damn much to even say her name out loud. The name only ripped up her chest and wrapped the knot around her heart tighter. She had to remind herself how to breathe properly and suddenly, tears were waiting dangerously behind her lashes.

The very second she ended her sentence the air was pregnant with emotion. Luna didn't speak and neither did Reyna.

Luna watched Reyna closely. Watched as her breath seemed to get caught in her throat. Every inhale became shorter than the other. Her eyes were tearing up but Luna could tell that Reyna wouldn't shed those tears. Luna realized Reyna cared for Lexa and unlike Clarke she was telling the truth about coming here, not because she wanted to save her people but because she wanted Lexa's legacy to be continued.

"She was working towards peace. She made it known that blood must not have blood." Reyna continued with a raspy voice, "I owe it to her to find someone to keep her legacy, that's why I'm here. But it was all for nothing."
