Chapter Forty-three

Authors POV

Mia went back to the hospitable, giving Nick his phone so it would keep him entertained other than watching hospitable TV.

Ellie went with her mother so she could see her father awake and that he was ok, and ready to come home tomorrow.

Meanwhile, at Nick and Mia's home, Celia, Val, Emily started top clean the house, Richard even got roped into cleaning the house.

"Why am I doing this?" Richard asked the women in the house

"Because he is your son and Mia will need to make sure that everything is all set," Celia started "So both her and Val won't need to worry or run around like headless chooks" Celia finished telling her husband throwing him fresh cloth.

Grunting, he cleaned what every the ladies told him to.

The four cleaned until everything became neat, tidy and easy accessible for Nick been in a wheelchair for the next could of weeks.

When the two girls arrived home, Val told them to sit down while she made dinner. Mia decided it would be best if she had her bath now instead of later since a tired Ellie complained every 5 minutes asking for something to eat while Val is making their dinner.

That night Mia ladies in bed texting Nick, 'Can't wait till your laying next to me again,' sending it off she touched her stomach. "I will have to tell your daddy soon, maybe we should wait till Christmas and tell her then?" She whispered.

Nick texted back immediately, catching Mia out of her trance talking to their unborn child. 'I know, I can't wait till I'm in my bed laying next to you' his text replied

Yawning Mia replied 'I need some sleep I will see you tomorrow morning, I love you,' she texted replied smiling.

'All right sweets love you to have a good nights rest I'll see you tomorrow' he texts replied. She smiled putting her phone on charge turning over to her loves side of the bed snuggling into his pillow, driving off to sleep.

The next day

Everyone is on edge, Nick was coming home today, Ellie wanted to come, while Celia, Richard and Val were making sure everything is in place for his arrival.

"Ellie please, it will be very hard getting him home, we will get home as soon as we can ok" Mia tells her daughter bedding down to her level.

"Ok" Ellie replied, pouting. "Hey, why don't you make dad a card or sign with Val, grandma and I will get dad" Mia told her daughter, hoping it would give her an idea on what to do.

Celia sat on the edge completing his paperwork of the bed while Mia helped Nick get changed in the bathroom attached to the room he had been in.

"You know I can do this myself" nick told his girlfriend as he winced putting on his shirt. "I know but you just winced, and I want to help" Mia stated smiling.

"Well thank you, now can I have a kiss?" Nick asked girlfriend. "Sure" she replied kissing him, walking out of the room.

"Is Nick coming out? They are giving us a chair to take home" Celia spoke while looking at her phone.

"yes he's stubborn though, I don't know what he would do without me?" Mia questioners with a chuckle.

"Like his father, I just hope his father will be a little more respectful." Celia spoke.

"I know, I think him and I need a heart to heart" Mia explains, as Nick stumbles with one foot out of the bathroom.

Mia walks over and helps him to the bed. "They're bringing you a chair to take home" Mia told her boyfriend. Nick let out a hurt moan as he sat down on the bed.

"How are we going to get you upstairs?" Mia question his hurt face.

"We can use the lifts in the back of my house?" Nick responded as if she forgot he had one.

"You have a lift in the house?" Mia asked, he nodded his head in pain as the nurse walked in with his chair.

"Do you have any pain medication I could have for the ride home?" Nick asked, desperate for the pain to go away.

"You have already had the morning dose, when you get home, if you are in pain you can have some, but no more until you go to sleep." The nurse replied as Celia handed Nick's nurse his discharge paper so she could get his medication.

Once the nurse came back with everything for Nick, the two lovebirds and mother of Nick.

Celia left the two inside the foyer of the hospitable while she went around to get the car, making it easier for Nick to get into the car.

Once Nick was in the car, with Mia in the back and his mother driving, they headed home. On the way home, Nick kept complaining that he was in pain.

When they arrived home Celia made sure that the car was close to the door and everyone was in the house helped with Nick coming into the house.

Arriving back at home

"Guys come help please" Celia called out through the front door. Celia saw her granddaughter race to the front door. "Daddy" she yelled out.

By this time Mia had gotten out of the car and come around to Nick side of the door.

"Baby, when he gets in you can say hello, he's in a lot of pain of" Mia told their daughter, picking her up, carrying her out to the front where his mother is helping him out of the car.

"Hi Ellie, how are you?" Nick asked her daughter

"Better that your home" she replied, making him smile.

"Ok how about we go inside I need my medication" Nick spoke to his mother and Mia.

"Ok, lets get you over to the couch" Mia replied to her lover.

"Thank you" he replied touching her arm showing his affection.

After a while Nick became tired trying to stay away. "Mia honey how about you take Nick up stairs" Celia spoke to her son and Mia.
