Authors POV
Ellies two days was a success, Ellie wanted to go back after Thanksgiving, so on the Friday Mia was running around in the morning to pick all of her things up from her previous school. Also making sure everything is ready for her family.
Nick wanted to help, but he was just starting to get better, Mia just didn't want to risk it.
"Babe, it's ok," Mia tells Nick. He got and walked over to Mia. "But you need rest too, you have been running around, why don't you ask Val to come back," Nick asked Mia.
"Because she deserves time off," Mia told Nick.
"And you need some sleep, I will call Val, ask her to pick Ellie up, and help this afternoon so we can pick them later," Nick spoke up to his girlfriend.
Mia huffed and went upstairs, while Nick called Val to help.
___________
Later that evening, Val was back in the house without a fuss, so Mia could get some rest before they had to pick her family up from the hotel they stayed at last night.
"Right, we will be back in about an hour. Make sure you are ready because we will have dinner right away. Mia's family will be very tried" Nick told his daughter and Val, who was causally cooking while Ellie was coloring on the coffee table that Mia made with paper, stuck to it.
"Ok," Ellie spoke, looking up at her parents.
________
Nick's POV
our ride to the hotel with Mia and I, driving is exciting.
"So, are you sure you are feeling better?" I asked Mia. "Yeah, I think it's a more rush of excitement," Mia speaks. "How are you finding driving again?" I asked her.
"Good, I guess it's like riding a bike, just an enormous, heavy and deadly bike" Mia spoke, I chuckled and nodded my head agreeing with her.
When we arrive at the hotel just a short trip from our home, we parked down from the lobby. I suddenly realized that we do not have enough seats in the car to cart everyone back to the house.
"Hey, Mia, we don't have enough seats," I tell her. She cursed at herself. "That's ok; we can get a cab for the rest, is that ok? I didn't even think of that," Mia cursed at herself again.
"Hey, it's ok, we can pack their bags into the car and pay their cab fare," I tell her, rubbing her neck, knowing it soothes her.
Mia and I get out of the car, she walks, and I hobble with my best leg and arm up the ramp to the entrance to the hotel we put them in for their first night.
When we walked into the hotel, I saw my family; I ran up to my mum and siblings, hugging them. "Where's Nick.?" I hear Mia's mum asked
"I'm right here," I call out. Mia's family looks over at me, their mouths open. "Nick, what happened?" Mia's mum asked, helping me sit down.
"We will tell you when we get home. Now we have a little of a problem; we only brought one car so that we can pile all the bags into the car and we can get a taxi for you to take you to our home?" I suggested.
"Oh, that's ok. We borrowed two-cars so we can divide everything up; we knew this would happen," his mum spoke.
Mia and I nodded with a smile, walking to their rental cars.
Mia's Family followed us home. When we arrived home, it was getting dark and cold, so we got them in as quickly as we could. Luis, Oliver, and James brought the bags in, while the mums; Brenna and Andrea. Keira, Oliver's girlfriend, went inside to say hello to Ellie.
When they were all inside, Mia helped them to their rooms and allowed them to get settled before they had dinner and get the kids ready to bed.
"Jade Leo, do you want to come and see where we are sleeping?" I hear Ellie ask her cousins, giggling the run away with two-year-old Lexie behind them.
Authors POV
"So, Nick tells us what happened?" Brenna asked Nick.
"My father and I got into a fight, I drove off and got into an accident; I was unconscious for 48 hours" Nick explanation stunned Mia's family.
"So, what else has been happening?" Mia's mum asked, moving away from the subject. Mia looked at Nick, and he nodded.
"Well, Ellie will move schools to the catholic academy of Niagara falls," Mia started. "That's great" Lea spoke,
"Yes, but I also have some news, the competition I entered with my writing. I didn't win but one judge from the competitions, she said that she told one of the directs and writers from a CW TV show." Mia started.
"They want me to come over for an interview, one judge is also a publisher, and she said I have a real good chance of getting published," Mia told her family.
They smiled, hugging Mia. "Dinner is ready, would you like me to go get the kids?" Val asked
"No, it's ok; I will go get them cleaned up" Mia spoke.
_________
They sat down for dinner; the kids asked Ellie questions what it was like to live on the outskirts of New York.
Mia also said they would try to organise for the kids to experience a school at Ellie's school.
If they wouldn't be able to do that, Mia told her siblings that she'd be happy to look after them for a while, so they could do some adult sightseeing or ask Val to, so she could go out with her siblings, mum and nick.
Dinner went on they headed over to the couch where the kids ate their ice creams in cones.
"So what did dad say when you guys were coming over here?" Mia asked her siblings.
"He's annoyed, but he said that he would try to come later in the week, but I don't think he was too happy," Brenna said.
Mia scoffed, "Yeah, well, he's done this too, himself."
"I don't blame you, Mia, the way he's been treating you, he doesn't deserve the help," Luis told Mia, her other siblings agreed.
Andrea, Brenna, and Mia went to get the kids bathed and ready for bed, Mia took the older ones into the theatre room, while the younger babies, in their rooms.
The laddie's settled the kids in bed, and the men went up to their rooms, Mia's mother helped Mia and clean up while Nick went up to his room.
Nick's POV
While Mia and her mum were down stairs cleaning up with Val, I went to see her brothers.
He knocked on each of their doors, wondering if he could talk to them both.
"Sorry to bother you, I just wanted to ask you guys a question," I asked her two brothers, they nodded tiredly.
"I can ask you in the morning?" I asked
"It's ok, what did you want to ask us?" Oliver asked.
"It's about Mia; I want to ask her to marry me," I told her brothers. "I wanted to ask you for permission from you since she isn't so close to her dad," I told her brothers.
They nodded "Sure man, you have our blessing, have you got the ring?" Luis asked,
"No, I wanted to ask you first, in case well, you say no," I replied with a chuckle.
The soon to be brothers in-laws shook hands; Olivier and Luis went back to their rooms, While I wobbled back into our room.
