Hey, guys, I hope you are all doing well in these crazy times we have. I hope you are all safe and well.

Authors POV.

The past week had been different, Emily and Val stayed with Nick and Mia since Mia would need all the help she can get with Mr. and Mrs Black back home for the week.

Mia was helping Nick with this recovering, making him do the exercises that his OT gave him two days ago. Emily told Mia to focus on what she needed to do while she kept Nick occupied and drop Ellie off to school.

Mia became frazzled and sent a quick email to her teacher, letting them know that her friend Emily would drop possibly Ellie up so she could help Val clean the whole house, go shopping and get everything sorted for her family to stay for the week of thanksgiving.

Mia and Val walked into the bustling New York Niagara falls Mall. "So where did you want to go first?" Val asked Mia, her friend, and her employer.

"I don't know, do you guys get things for thanksgiving?" Mia questioned not knowing the customs Nick does around this time of the year, or even if he celebrates Christmas.

"Does Nick Celebrate Christmas?" I questioned Val.

"Yep, his Family is very traditional, going to Mass, on Christmas and Easter," Val speaks.

"And you?" Mia asked Val.

"Yes, very much so," she replies, looking at me, answering, "And you?" She asked me.

"They brought us up Catholic, but I don't practice it, though if he does, I will consider practicing been catholic again," Mia explained to Val.

"So, let's start with some sales," Val spoke as they walked through the entrance of the Niagara Falls mall.

As the duo walked through the mall, Val showed Miahla many of the clothes, technology, and the usual toys and other outlet that would be best for Mia's family.

A good hour later, Miahla and Val had many shopping bags that they needed a shopping cart to put them all in.

"Thank you for this, I needed time to relax even if it was just to go shopping," Mia told Val with a smile on her face.

"No worries when you get your transfer license over here, you will go out and I can look after Ellie for a while, have some me time" Val replied as they walked to the car.

Meanwhile, Nick and Emily both sat on the couch downstairs, where Mia helped set him up with his laptop and a few essential items he needed if he wanted to work.

"You ok Nick?" Emily asked Nick as he looked at a picture on his computer.

"Hum?" Nick questioned, looking at Emily.

"Are you ok? You have been starring at your screen and haven't typed or done anything," Emily asked.

"Oh, yes, I was reading" Nick faked his reply.

"You are lying" Emily spoke, he shook his head, as she looked at him with a questioning look.

"I have lived with Mia for years, I know when she is lying so I have gained a few tips," Emily spoke.

Nick sighed as he looked at the screen. "Fine, but this has to be between the two of us, you can't tell anyone, not even Val or Ellie" Nick spoke as he turned the computer towards her.

Emily's face brightened, smiling at Nick. "I will keep it quiet. But something simpler maybe, I don't know, she's special, so she deserves something special." Emily said with a smile.

"So what are you trying to work on?" Emily asked.

"Well, some business stuff but also looking up the new practices in nursing," Nick explained.

Emily smiled, "I can help you" Emily suggested, hoping that her new skills would be useful.

Nick smiled. "Ok, sounds good, but it's hard stuff." He explained to Emily.

"I did nursing and a few business units," Emily told Nick with a smile.

"Oh, ok, that would be great, thank you," Nick spoke, now having something in common with one of Mia's friends.

The two sat together and worked together, working on the new rules and regulations in health care.

One hour of shooting ideas off each other and learning new practices of the health care industry, Nick became tired. Emily left him to have a nap while she watches TV.

Val and Mia arrived home, take it their bags inside, "I meant what I said, we will need all the help we can get but take a day or two off." Miahla told Val, placing the bags on the kitchen bench. There was no site of Emily, but Mia saw her boyfriend on the couch sound asleep.

"Take Emily out, I will be fine and I will pick Ellie up from school and see if she can work from home," Mia explained to Val.

"Are you sure, Mia," Val asked Mia, nodded. "Yes, I will call you if I need anything" Mia tells Val just wanting some space Val Smiled.

Mia sighed, hoping Val didn't see it. She just wanted Nick and Ellie to herself. She was grateful to have all this help, though it was getting a little too much since she had been so used to looking after herself even when she was sick.

"Let me help you put everything away; then I will head off with Emily," Val explained to Mia, who smiled gratefully.

Once Val put everything away, she and Emily headed out, Mia went around to the couch sighing, Nick looked over at her, "What's wrong?" He asked her, making her jump slightly.

"Shit, I thought you were asleep." She whispered.

"I pretended I was," Nick replied, Mia nodded. "Yep, I'm grateful they helped, but I just need time to breathe and do things by myself," Melissa told Nick. He nodded his head in agreement.

"Some times I just want my lovely girlfriend to help me, it would be a lot easier. Though Val has only seen me naked as a kid, but I don't want to be naked in front of anyone else bar you" Nick told Mia, leaning in to kiss her.

Mia blushed, "I will need to pick Ellie up and get her work, then we can have a week alone as a family." Mia replied, smiling. "That sounds like a great idea," Nick replied with a smile kissing her again.

Nick and Mia sat together for an hour, chatting, just the two of them without being distracted, it went by so fast that Mia now had to pick Ellie up from school, leaving Nick by himself. Mia made sure he had relieved himself and is comfortable before going to get their daughter.
