"If we know who they are than what are we waiting for?" Amanda asked.

"We can't risk being reckless, we don't know how many supporters she has. The way Hannah made it sound it goes beyond our coven. And to top it all off we still don't know much about the curse except that it will destroy Kyle from the inside out if we don't do anything." Emma said.

"So what are we going to tell them?" Amanda asked.

Emma avoided her gaze, but Amanda understood what she was trying to say. "They deserve to know Emma."

"And they will... just not now." Emma said.

Amanda looked sympathetic. She couldn't imagine what Emma was feeling to find out her mother was behind all this. However, it all makes sense now. The reason both Emma and Amanda found the symbol familiar or how they could decipher some of the spell's meaning... it was right under their noses the entire time. They were basically born and raised around it. However, they were shunned to the cruelty behind their coven's practices by their young nativity. Threats were one thing, but actual plans of action were another.

Amanda wrapped an arm around Emma and let her lean comfortably against her. They sat under a tree  in the forest for a few minutes. Comforting each other as everything they have ever known crumbled to pieces around them.

"Emma if your mom is behind all this I might have someone who can help us." Amanda said.

Emma looked up at her, "Who?"

"I have a grandmother who moved to New Orleans when I was a little girl. No one talks about her, but one time I asked about her and all my dad said was that she was a traitor. Sound familiar?" Amanda rhetorically asked.

"Do you think?" Emma asked.

"It's possible. Apparently traitors in this coven are those who fraternize with their enemies. She's an older witch, so maybe her wisdom could guide us into the right direction." Amanda said.

"What are the odds she's willing to help us." Emma said.

"She's a shunned witch, forced into exile and declared the black sheep of the family. Call it intuition, but I have a feeling she's more than willing to help."

"How will we find her? Do you have anything of hers to do a locator spell?"

"Already ahead of you." Amanda said.

They gathered in Kyle's dorm as Emma told them everything that happened, well mostly everything.

"We have a lead to follow, but we need you guys to stay here." Emma said.

"We're going." Ethan stubbornly said.

"Yeah." Grayson and Kyle said.

"We can't ask you to do this own your own." Olivia said.

"I need you guys to stay here. I promised you guys I would deal with the magic part of this mystery and that's what I'm doing. You guys are more useful here. Whoever is after Kyle is most likely keeping an eye on him. We need you guys to act normal and go to class to prevent them from getting suspicious. It's crucial for them to believe that their plan is working."

"I don't like this." Ethan said.

"You don't have to." Emma said "None of you have to like it. You guys dragged me into this mess and you can bet your asses I'm going to get us out of it." Emma said.

"This is the second time she's pushed me away." Ethan said once they left. He slammed a text book against the wall to relieve his pent up frustration.

"Relax E." Grayson said.

"How can I relax when she's putting herself in danger for me. We don't know what's out there!" Ethan yelled.

Grayson caught Ethan's fist that was about to punch a hole in the wall.

"I couldn't live with myself if something happened to her Gray. It's my fault she's even here in the first place. I wish I wouldn't just left her alone in New York. At least there I knew she was safe." Ethan said.

"Emma's a strong girl E. She'll be fine." Olivia reassured him.

"And she has a point. What if we are being watched? The voices have reduced, but how long will that last? The sooner we get more answers the quicker we can all kick ass." Kyle said.

Ethan sighed, "I just want things to go back to how they use to be."

"And they will." Grayson said. "For all of us."

AN: Clearing up the air: In their world speciesism is a common thing, but to actively harm another group takes it to the next level. Everyone is aware of it, but they all stay silent and mind their own business/groups. Yes, Emma and Ethan faced threats, but deep down Emma hoped they were bluffing. She feared for his life regardless of whether they would actually kill him or not. Think of it as a guy being told to stay away from his girlfriend because the family disapproved, it's drastically different than what they're planning in the grand scheme of things and that's why she's shocked by the revelation. I don't want to spoil it so i'll stop here but I hope that cleared somethings up.
