Kili's P.O.V.

"Letting these girls come with us was one of the best decisions that we made." I told Fili, as we were laughing at what Aeremys and Salaera were doing to Vamorys.

I looked over at Thorin, finding that he was laughing along with us. After a while, the girls left Vamorys alone, ceasing the fun.

After a failed attempt to get some rest, Vamorys got up and left the room, not telling anyone where she was going. "She does that a lot. She just gets up and leaves. Then a few minutes later, she is back." Aeremys said.

"That's not always true." Salaera said. "Sometimes it's a couple hours. Just depends on how she feels." Aeremys nodded her head before leaning back into her pillow and closing her eyes.

Like Aeremys said, a few minutes later Vamorys was back with something wrapped in worn cloth. She sat back down on her bed and removed the cloth, revealing a bow with arrows. She picked up one of the arrows and poked her finger with it. She put the arrow back and then put the bow with her sword.

I put my bow, along with the arrows, next to my sword. I looked out the window to see that the sun had just come up. There was red and bright orange all throughout the sky.

~Flashback~

I kissed Salaera on the forehead before I left the house, making a quick run to the town before our parents woke up. I went outside and closed the door very carefully, making sure that I didn't wake anyone up. The nearest town was a little over a mile away. I walked along our bumpy road, watching the sun come up. There was red and a bright orange in the sky, it looked as if the clouds were ablaze, as I walked farther away from home.

When I got to the town, it seemed almost deserted. I went to Ol' Sals to buy Ma's favorite type of bread. Then I went across the street to get the meat that we had ordered. It took me longer to walk home than it did for me to walk to the town because of all of the things that I had to carry. I knew that I should have brought my horse. I thought to myself. As I neared our house, I saw smoke rising up from where our house was. I rounded the corner, seeing Aeremys holding Salaera, watching our home burn.

~End of Flashback~

I looked back at the room, seeing that most everyone had left. I grabbed all of my things and headed down stairs. As I passed the bar, I saw people look at me and make mean faces. Some even spit at me. I held back the urge to punch them and continued to the door.

When I got outside, I noticed that some of the ponies were gone, but not all of them. I put my things back into Ezara's saddle bag. I made room for the bow and sword, and then swung myself up onto her back, patting her neck before I nudged her forward. I saw Fili and Kili come out of the bar and look at me with puzzled faces as I rode off.

"Do you think we should follow her?" Fili asked me as he patted his pony's neck. "Why not. We don't have anything better to do this morning." I said, agreeing with him.

"Bombur probably won't be leaving the room, so you can take his pony." Fili said. I hopped onto the pony's back while Fili got on his. We could faintly see Vamorys in the distance, so we started after her before she was too far away.

"What do you think she is doing?" I asked Fili. "Probably getting away from all the chaos of this town." He said.

As we got closer to where she was, we stopped the ponies and let them graze in the tall grass. As we got closer to her, we saw that she was sitting on the ground with two burnt down structures in front of her. "I think that this is where they used to live." Fili whispered to me.

I nodded and wouldn't dare go any closer to her. Her horse rose it's head and nickered at us, telling her that someone was behind her. I turned to Fili to talk to him when he pulled his sword out and blocked Vamorys sword from knocking off my head.

When she saw that it was just us, she let her sword fall to the ground, and she sat back down, tears falling from her eyes and landing on her shirt, making little wet marks where they landed.

I picked her sword up and walked over to her. I sat down on one side of her while Kili sat on the other. I set her sword in front of her. "I'm sorry." She said.

"There is nothing to be sorry for. We know what you are going through." I said, trying to comfort her. She leaned into me and sighed. With every breath that she took, her whole body shook. I looked over at Kili as he started to stand up. He walked over to the burnt down house and started looking around. He bent down and then said, "Vamorys, you should see this."

She pushed away from me, wiping the tears away before grabbing her sword and making her way towards Kili. I stood up as well and followed her.

"What is this?" Kili asked. "I don't know." She said, bending down towards a metal box laying in the dirt and debris of one of the structures.

I bent down to the metal box. The lock was flimsy and broke off easily. There was rust and soot caked on the outside, but on the inside there was a sword wrapped in slightly singed cloth. I picked it up and whispered to myself, "Onox".

"What did you say?" Kili asked. "Onox. This was my mother's sword. This sword has seen many victories." I said, lifting the sword up into the light.

Both of them looked at the sword in awe. I looked at it closer, seeing that the markings were still on it. I had only seen this sword one other time, that was when I was young and curious. I opened the box and played with the sword. That was the time that Ma put the lock on the box and hid it from me. I never found it again.

I stood up and walked back to Ezara, putting Onox in the sheath on the saddle. Fili and Kili got on their ponies and rode back to the town, while I took one last glance at our home before pulling myself up into the saddle and followed behind the two dwarves.

Aeremys' P.O.V.

I went back to the room, finding that Vamorys was gone. In fact, the only one in the room was Bombur. I was about to leave when Thorin walked in behind me and asked, "Where is Vamorys?"

"I don't know." I said, looking out the window in the room. "She's been gone all day." I heard Bombur say behind me, followed by Thorin's footsteps as he exited the room.
