Bilbo's P.O.V.

It took me a long while before I found the cells that the company was locked up in. I wore the ring, cloaking myself from the eyes of the guards and my friends while I waited until the right time to let them out and lead them to safety. When the last guard left to join the feast up above, I took the ring off, revealing myself.

One by one I let the dwarves out of the cells until I got to Vamorys. "What happened?" I asked her as I unlocked the cell. "Oh I could kiss you right now Bilbo." She said before hugging me and continuing. "We were ambushed by elves in the forest. Salaera was injured. I sent her with Dynir to Rivendell before we got captured." She moved to be with Aeremys and the rest of the company. I turned to the rest of the cells to find a white knuckled Fili glaring at me through the bars of his cell.

After everyone was out I quickly led them to the cellar that I had found that allows us to drop down in barrels into the river.

"Quick. Everyone in." I said, urging them all into the barrels stacked on the floor. I counted everyone and made sure they were all secure before pulling the lever, dumping them all into the river below.

After they all tumbled down, the floor came back up, sealing the room off once more. What now? I thought to myself as I looked around the room.

Vamorys' P.O.V.

We sat in our barrels underneath the platform that we fell from awaiting Bilbo. We were all soaking wet and letting out violent shivers by the time that he fell through the platform and straight into the water.

"About time." Thorin said. "We have to get out of here, let's go." The company let go of the banks of the river and started rushing down with the current in our desperate attempt to escape this hell hole.

We were about halfway to the gate when the warning horns started to go off and the waterway gate shut. Elves lined the bank, drawing their bows and aiming straight at us. Before Legolas could give the order to let the arrows fly, Orcs showed up on the other bank. This is just great. I thought to myself as an all out war waged just above our heads as we continued to speed down the river. Some of the elves used our heads as stepping stones to cross the river and get to the orcs.

One by one we all came to a complete stop, crashing into the gates. "I'm going to try and release the gates!" Kili yelled over the roaring water. He climbed out of his barrel and onto the shore. He tried to move quickly but was struck with an arrow before he made it to the lever. Dynir! Where are you! I called out through my mind link. I started to climb out of my barrel when I heard an ear splitting roar from above. I looked up to find Dynir laying waste to the Orc army.

I made my way to the shore and up to Kili. I pulled the lever, releasing the rest of the company. "Come on Kili. You have to try and stand. I'm going to get us out of here." I said to him, helping him to his feet.

"Get ready to jump!" I yelled out, grabbing hold of him and pulling him to my side. "I can't swim!" He yelled out as I jumped from the bridge, almost instantly being caught in the grip of Dynir.

Fili's P.O.V.

I rushed over to Kili as Vamorys carefully set him down on the ground. "You lucky bastard." I said to him while addressing his wound. "I'm lucky? I'm the one with an arrow sticking out of my leg!" He said through gritted teeth. "Now just get this arrow out of my leg!" I gave a gentle tug on the arrow but it wasn't budging.

" I would have given anything to trade places with you just to get that physical contact." I said as I broke the arrow off. He let out a long exhale of breath before saying, "You could have jumped out of your stupid barrel to pull the lever, but you didn't, I did. If you want that type of physical contact from Vamorys, just tell her how you feel."

I stepped away from his side as Balin came over to dress my brother's wounds. She stood tall and beautiful by her sister's side. She was with another girl that I did not know, but that did not matter. All that I wanted to do at this moment was wrap her in my arms and tell her how I felt, but alas, that would not happen.

"We need to make haste. There is little time before the dragon Smaug senses that there is another dragon near his plunder." The new elf said. Thorin turned towards her with a confused look on his face and said, "Who are you to be making the calls on my quest?!" She had a shocked look on her face. She wasn't trying to boss us around, she was merely making a suggestion. "I can see that the sickness of the dragon has already started to take over your mind. You will be the downfall of this quest." She said while approaching Thorin. "Zestari, that's enough. It is their quest, not ours." Vamorys said to the she elf.

Thorin was fuming, everyone could see it. "Elves never belonged in this company in the first place! I should have trusted my gut instead of that old fool! Leave before I kill you all!" After he said that Dynir showed his teeth and let out a low warning growl while advancing to guard Vamorys. "I'd like to see you try." She said while placing a hand on the snout of her dragon.

It seemed like Thorin had snapped out of his state of madness at that moment. He knew that we were no match for the girls, even if they didn't have a dragon on their side. The girls climbed atop Dynir and flew off, not even giving us a glance over their shoulder.

Vamory's P.O.V.

"What are we going to do now?" Salaera asked from behind me. I looked towards the mountain and the city of Dale and said, "We are going to take the mountain." Land us in Dale, Dynir. He turned us in the direction of the lost city and spoke to me. I don't think that this is a good idea. Smaug is way too strong for the five of us. We are all going to die.
