Mahina's P.O.V.

The Ridgewing egg hatched overnight and a little blue and black dragon awoke me. I could tell already that he was a powerful dragon. Dynir jumped into a nearby bush and dragged a huge rat out of it. He ate and started to grow. I smiled and then touched my hand to his snout, sealing the trust bond.

It would not be long before he was a fully grown dragon capable of mass destruction. The Master will be proud of him. I thought to myself as he curled up into my lap and drifted off into a sound sleep.

The warmth of his body warmed and protected me from the bitter chill of the night air. I looked up at the sky and smiled. "Soon we will be up there, little one. Very soon." I said before drifting off into sleep.

Fili's P.O.V.

I tried to fall asleep, but Kili cut into my thoughts. "She tried to kill me. Twice now." He said. "In her defense, you killed her Warg. And you tried to kill her back." I told Kili as I laid on the ground trying to sleep. "You're just defending her because you are smitten with her." He said as he rolled over and tried to get to sleep. It was hard to fall asleep after Kili's last comment, but soon my eyes became heavy and sleep overtook my body.

~Fili's Dream~

I stood in the field near Erebor. Gusts of cold wind and snow started to come from over the mountain. That's when I saw the shadow looming over the mountain. I placed my hand in front of my face, desperately trying to block out the sun. As the looming shadow got closer I could see the flapping of giant wings. My eyes widened as I turned to run towards my people. I had to warn them about the dragon. I was almost to the gates when the huge black and blue beast landed in front of me, blocking my path. The beast snarled at me as its rider slid off of its back. My heart beat almost out of my chest when I saw her. She was in battle armor and had a crown atop her head. She looked absolutely stunning and dangerous at the same time. She drew her sword and walked towards me. "Vamorys." I said as she raised the sword and swung.

~End of Dream~

I awoke with a start and sat straight up. I looked around the dark forest looking for her. It hurt me to think about what Azog could be putting her through right now. What he could be making her do and what torture he could be putting her through. After a while of looking in the forest, hoping that she would come walking over to me, I laid back down and tried to get back to sleep.

I closed my eyes and images of her flooded my mind. I saw her smile and heard her laugh. I saw her tears and felt her pain. She was imperfectly perfect and it drove me mad. If she would ask me to give up my royalty and live a quaint life with her, I would do it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even have to think about it first.

I started to drift back into my slumber as the sun came upon the horizon and the early morning birds started to sing their sweet songs. I knew that I would see her again. And I also knew that someday; someday she would be mine.

Bilbo's P.O.V.

It was very early in the morning. The forest around me was still grey with the lack of light and grogginess was still heavy on my head and in my eyes, but someone had to check the road ahead of us, and that someone had to be me. I hid behind a rock and looked out, scanning as far as I could see for orcs or wargs. I started to turn back, thinking that everything was clear when something flew above me.

I ducked down to the ground, trying to make myself as small as I could, hoping that the beast didn't see me. I looked over my shoulder to see a giant bear looking up at the dragon as well before he looked over at me and snarled. I gathered myself and headed back to the company as fast as I could.

I had to stop and catch my breath once I had reached the company. "There weren't any orcs or wargs." I said, still slightly winded. They all started to cheer. "Wait. I'm not done. There's a dragon." The company froze in their tracks and worry filled their faces. "Was there a rider?" Gandalf asked. I scratched my head and said, "I don't know. It was so far away, I couldn't make out too many details."

"What color is it?" Fili asked as he sat down on a large rock. I looked at him and then said, "Black and blue, why?" He sighed before saying, "Vamorys' is hunting us, not alone, but she will find us before they do."

"How do you know this?" Gandalf asked with a puzzled look on his face. "Because when we were in Rivendell, Elrond gave them gifts, that is what she got. A dragon." Fili said.

"There's something else." I said. "What form did it take? Like a bear?" Gandalf asked. "Y-yes." I said. "There is a house nearby." Gandalf said. "Are they friend or foe?" Thorin asked. "Neither. He will help us, or he will kill us." Gandalf said. "What choice do we have?" Thorin asked.

A loud roar echoed throughout the mountain, rattling our chests and making the dirt beneath our feet quiver. "None." Gandalf said.
