 TWO MONTHS LATER .....

Haldi & Mehendi

[ The Bhatt Residence] - Bandra, Mumbai

Orange and Yellow shades of marigold strewn across hanging garlands, smiled at the embrace of sun's bright ray. Fresh flowers of pastel decked like a bride, painted the plush lawn with it's dazzling colours. A soft fragrance mixed with the mumbai sea breeze created an atmosphere befitting the occasion. Even the vast blue sky couldn't help but stay vibrant, striking a strong contrast to the picturesque arrangement.

Mahesh and Soni had recently purchased their brand new sea facing mansion. A luxury shift from their posh apartment in Juhu where they resided for as long as they could remember. The new home became a perfect venue to host their daughter and son in law's marriage. This made it convenient for everybody. To keep the never ending functions limited, the family decided for a single day celebration of Haldi in the morning followed by Mehendi in the evening.

Bright strips of pink, blue, yellow and green eclipsed the sun as they hung with pride, canopying. The center of the lawn had various cushions lined in for bride and groom to sit along with immediate family. Food stalls and bar counters were aligned to the left whereas in the opposite dance floor and DJ was set. Throughout the open space, decorated chairs and tables were assigned for the guests. Members of the media had parked themselves outside the massive gate for inside peak and celebrity glimpse. The venue buzzed with people and an infectious energy.

The squad were already running around like bees, shouting orders at each other, making sure the event would go perfect. Dress code for men except the groom were shades of blue while for women expect the bride were shades of yellow. The boys and girls from the close circle had opted for pastel blue and yellow respectively. "Jaldi kar khotthe" a frantic Ranveer ordered one of the event planner guy's to hurry up. High profile guests had already started flowing in. But the superstars would arrive for the sangeet next day. Karan walked in with his entire Dharma crew following him behind. Ranveer took out his shades and glared at them.

"How you doin, Karan ? Weren't you supposed to be here before the dawn broke ? Name another function where the bride's mooh bola father lands up this late!" He kept his arms on his waist and waited for a logical answer. Karan's face twisted in shame as some heads peaked in to see what he had to say. "Uh dekho beta I know my responsibilities and Bhatt saheb had clearly warned me to not chicken up for any of the functions. He wanted me to chill and enjoy the marriage as he believed I had taken too much tension for Alia in the past than him." He had a valid point, agreed Ranveer. "Also he needed time to clean up" Abhishek poked in with a grin.

"I see everyone's here. Where's VD ? I need to discuss something with him."

"Like father like son. Talk about coincidence" laughed Aditya as he joined the group, hugging them. "He's not even picking up his phone dammit-" fidgeting with his phone Arjun walked towards them only to stop as his eyes fixed at Karan. "Oh my god !" his face was worth to see. Karan winked with a blush "I know right. Ya I got those looks even from mom and everyone at office." Both the baba's shared a freaked eye contact and soon began laughing loud. Abhishek who normally keeps his emotions at check joined them from behind making Karan loose his shit.
