Exchange For a Year

Chapter 2

Aph's POV

Day one I am escorted to the high school by Headmistress Layla. This'll be super fun. As if, how in the name of Irene am I supposed to do anything if I can barely speak their language.

"Welcome to Phoenix Drop High, Miss Aph-meow,"

"Aphmau,"

"Pardon?"

"Mi nombre es Aphmau,"

First day, I've only just set foot into the school and I'm already stuffing up. At least I never have to come to the damn place again once this year is over. I have been placed into classes based on what they have and what they think I'll like. English as a second language, Basic math, Sport, a werewolf thingy, witchcraft and chemistry. I am not looking forward to chem at all.

The teacher leads me to a classroom and all my 'classmates' turn in my direction.

"Ms Millows, this is the new exchange student from Spain. Make her feel welcome."

Great, just great now these people are gonna give me attention just because I'm the new dumb girl who knows nothing about this school. I'm told to sit next to this blue haired girl, whose name I really don't care about right now.

"Hi,"

"H-i?"

"Katelyn, pleasure to meet you,"

I am kinda confused I don't understand what she said but I guess Katelyn is her name and the rest doesn't overly matter. She pulls out her phone and opens some translator app and sets it to Spanish.

"Encantado de conocerte,"

If she ever finds out what back home is like she would never say that, like ever.

"So hey, wanna hang with me and my friends at break, I can help you with your English and if you want to maybe teach me a little Spanish?"

I blink twice, the hell she on about? Katelyn looks back at me and quickly types into her phone.

"Así que oye, quieres quedarte conmigo y con mis amigos en el almuerzo, ¿puedo ayudarte con tu inglés y si quieres mostrarme algo de español?"

To hell with this I guess it can't be all that bad, I won't look like a total loser and I can practise English.

"Si,"

"OH MY IRENE, I know that one it means yes!"

"lo hace,"

"You'll like my friends, just don't take them too serious ok?" She warns me.

"Si,"

Once I know some decent English, I can make it on my own I won't need anyone to help me. The only reason I'm 'hanging out' with these weirdos is to make life easier for me this year. I am not going to make myself look like a dork in front of this school, but I'm not here to make friends either.

A/N: I know I know it takes a while to update but school takes up a fair bit of my time, but once I go on holidays there will be a lot more chapters of my current works
